Important Announcement: The End of an Era for Charters Towers Girl Guides
It is with heavy hearts that we share some sudden and difficult news with our community. Girl Guides Queensland has made the decision to sell the Charters Towers Girl Guide Hut. As we will no longer have a place to call home, their decision brings to an end 103 years of service in our town.
The decision to sell our beloved Hut was made at the state organizational level and came as a shock to our leaders, youth members, volunteers and families. While our local team is heartbroken by this directive from Girl Guides Queensland, we want to express our immense gratitude to every Leader, Volunteer, Youth member, and Supporter who has been part of our 103 year-long history.
Our local leaders have treasured the opportunity to empower girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members. Thank you to the entire community for standing behind us for 103 wonderful years.
