PCYC Charters Towers Braking the Cycle was successful in securing a grant from the Department of Transport and Main roads to bring the SKIDS Drive Safe Program to Charters Towers.
This event was held on Thursday 13 August and participants had fun learning about why there are road rules, hands on learning about how a car reacts when you have to brake suddenly at different speeds, hands on changing tyres, and driving around an obstacle course with a plate and ball balanced on the bonnet of the car (with a qualified driving instructor).
The young people also received a voucher for 3 driving lessons with our great local Adios L's Driving School.
Thank you to the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Colin, Sylvia and trainers from the Advanced Driver Training Centre, Senior Constable Trish for making the day a success, and the Feed Shed CT for a lovely lunch.
