This morning we met for cafe church and heard from our synod General Secretary, Rev Dr Peter Walker, as he preached on unity and togetherness as a church and the people of God.

Following worship, we had a big morning tea as Peter officially opened and dedicated the new kitchen. It was great to celebrate the 2 years of work that has gone into making the kitchen a reality. Part of this was thanking all those who made it happen. Well done, church!

✨ Introducing Southside@6 ✨

We’re excited to be starting Southside@6, a new monthly Friday evening gathering bringing together Uniting Church communities across Canberra’s south.

Beginning as a partnership between Tuggeranong Uniting Church and Yarralumla Uniting Church, Southside@6 will be a relaxed and welcoming space for people of all ages.

Each gathering will include simple worship with music, prayer, time to reflect and talk together, and sharing Holy Communion. Afterwards, there’ll be a light meal for anyone who would like to stay, eat and spend some time together.

Southside@6 is intergenerational and family-friendly. Children are welcome, noise is okay, and you don’t need to be familiar with church or worship to take part.

Friday 23 October | 6pm
Yarralumla Uniting Church
Followed by a BBQ.

Then, on Friday 28 November, Tuggeranong Uniting Church will host our second gathering, as we begin the Advent and Christmas season with carols.

On Sunday 30 August, we will meet for Cafe Church at 9:30am and hear from our guest preacher, Rev Dr Peter Walker (General Secretary of the NSW/ACT Synod). Peter will also dedicate our new kitchen following major renovations earlier this year during morning tea.

All are welcome to join us both for cafe church and for the opening and dedication of the new kitchen - a resource not just for the congregation but for the wider community.

🎶 What are your favourite hymns? 🎶

On Sunday 9 August, Yarralumla Uniting Church is hosting a special 'Hymnfest and Tea for MND' - an afternoon of singing, fellowship, and delicious food, all in support of families living with Motor Neurone Disease.

Throughout July, we'll be inviting everyone to vote for their favourite hymns, and the most-loved selections will become the soundtrack for the afternoon. Whether your heart belongs to Great Is Thy Faithfulness, How Great Thou Art, Be Thou My Vision, or another cherished hymn, we'd love to hear your vote!

After the singing, stay and enjoy a bumper afternoon tea, with all proceeds supporting MND NSW and the important work they do for people and families affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
