Team Cuppa Corner graduate!

We are so proud of every one of our graduates. Celebrating this milestone with them, their families and supporters was heartfelt, joyful and a little bit emotional, in the best way. The hard work, courage and growth on show was something special, and we feel lucky to have been part of the journey.

🎓 Graduation time! 🎉

A week ago we celebrated our latest Better Outcomes Program graduates, and what a group!

Twelve weeks of hard work, growth, nerves, laughs and some serious new skills in hospitality and retail. We couldn't be prouder of every one of you.

Huge thanks to our amazing employer partners who gave our participants a go, and to everyone who supported them along the way. 💛

Highlights from the Better Outcomes SQW class that started in July ...

Steady hands, big smiles, and three plates each! 🍽️

Our Better Outcomes students swapped the classroom for the garden to practise one of the most important skills in hospitality: plate carrying.

Dressed in their crisp hospitality blacks, each student balanced three plates at a time, and did it out on the grass, which adds a whole extra layer of challenge. Uneven ground, a bit of breeze and plenty of concentration made for a great mix of laughs and pride.

Skills like this might look simple, but they're the ones that build real confidence on the floor of a busy café, restaurant or function venue. It's exactly the kind of hands-on practice we love to offer, helping our students feel ready to step into their next opportunity.

📣 Last chance to jump on board before next Tuesday!

Meet Lisa from Lisa's Willow Tree Cafe. Here she is supporting three of our Better Outcomes participants through their prac last week. They served real customers, took orders, made food and drinks, cleared tables and handled payments. The whole job, start to finish.

That's what our program is all about: gaining three nationally recognised qualifications, real workplace experience, hands-on practical skills, and genuine local employers standing behind our participants every step of the way. Plus wraparound support to help with any barriers, and it's all fully funded by the Queensland Government.

⏰ Our next intake starts Tuesday 6 October, and spaces are almost full.

☕️ Practical skills in a real café environment! 🍰

Today our Better Outcomes students put their skills into practice at Lisa’s Willow Tree Cafe, and they did an absolutely amazing job! 👏

From getting behind the scenes and putting their café skills to work, to building confidence and working as part of a team, it was fantastic to see how much they’ve achieved.

There’s something pretty special about watching students take the skills they’ve been developing in training and put them into action in a real workplace environment. 💪❤️

A huge thank you to Lisa and the team Lisa's Willow Tree Cafe for welcoming us and giving our students the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience.

Change your life!

In May, Cameron nearly walked away from the Better Outcomes Program. He started the course feeling nervous and low on self-confidence. After a few days, he felt unsure and was tempted to drop out. We encouraged him to push through, and he did! He completed the course and proved to himself that he could do it.

Today, he's a different person — applying for jobs, attending interviews, even tackling AI chatbot interviews head-on. He tells us proudly of every update, something the old Cameron would never have done.

This is what our course is really about: building the confidence and self-belief that turns into real-world action.
