Join us for a special Author Book Launch Panel where GCWA members will share their publishing journeys, the challenges they faced, and the lessons they learned along the way. Whether you're an aspiring writer, a published author, or simply love books, this promises to be an inspiring and informative afternoon.

Lesley Synge took us on a journey to discover our poetic voice through the art of poetry.

She shared how she documented her travels through the use of Haiku — a traditional form of Japanese poetry consisting of three unrhymed lines. Lesley then guided us on a very different journey through the hinterland, where the poetic voice shifted into a relaxed, meditative connection with nature.

Throughout the workshop, Lesley encouraged the group to explore poetry through different perspectives and emotions. Participants were challenged to write poems in three different voices, followed by creating poetry inspired by a place.

Lesley inspired the group to embrace creativity, emotion, and individuality, encouraging everyone to feel free to express themselves through their own unique poetic voice.
