🏏 OUR NEW MISSION STATEMENT

Cricket Gold Coast is proud to announce our new mission statement:

Enjoyment and growth through engaging cricket.

Our mission will help guide decision-making and shape the future direction of cricket across the Gold Coast, ensuring we continue to deliver the best possible experience for our players, clubs, volunteers, officials and wider cricket community.

Our mission is built around three key pillars:

🔹 Enjoyment – Creating a positive, inclusive and rewarding environment where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy cricket.

🔹 Growth – Growing participation, developing talent and strengthening our clubs and competitions to ensure cricket continues to thrive across the Gold Coast.

🔹 Engagement – Achieving these objectives by delivering an engaging cricket experience that keeps players involved, attracts new participants and connects our wider community through the game.

These pillars will help guide our priorities and decisions as we work together to build a stronger future for cricket on the Gold Coast.

The Board of Cricket Gold Coast was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Laurence Bradley.

Laurie was made Life Member of Cricket Gold Coast in 2014. A former president of the association, Laurie ran GC cricket from his home in 1973; the contact number for anything to do with the association was his home telephone.

He had a strong involvement with administering junior cricket during the 1970s and 80s. Along with Alan Blackman, he helped establish Cheltenham Oval, Robina, in the 1990s, now known as Andrew Symonds Oval.

He was also a former president of the umpires' association, and continued umpiring until 2024 at the age of 89.

A service for Laurie will be held at St. Margaret's Anglican Church, Nerang, on 16/10/2026, 1pm, followed by a celebration of his life at the Nerang RSL, 2:30pm.

Good Morning Everyone,
As mentioned in my previous emails, we will be running two face-to-face Silver Courses for your Blast Coordinators.
The course was originally going to cost $12 per participant. However, Cricket Australia has now waived this fee, meaning both courses will be free of charge for your coordinators.
We see no reason not to take advantage of this opportunity and strongly encourage you to send along your coordinators or coaches involved in your Blast programs this season. There will be two sessions taking place over the coming weeks, with further details to be released shortly.
Please remember that to be eligible for the Silver Course, participants must have completed the Bronze Course, which is completed entirely online. The Bronze Course is an important prerequisite, as it covers key information around child safeguarding.
We strongly encourage you to get your coordinators and relevant coaches registered and take advantage of this great opportunity.
Further details regarding dates, times and locations will be provided soon.
Please get in contact if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,

From James at Qld Cricket
