What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon travelling from Campania, to Puglia, Toscana and Emilia-Romagna. Tasting a variety of Italian wines, enjoying delicious regional food and learning about Italian wine traditions.

Thank you IAN MCBRIDE and FILIPPO D’ARRÒ for this fantastic experience.

And a warm thank you to those who prepared the delicious food, which brought an authentic taste of Italy to the table. The wines were generously provided by Filippo, from Italiquore Premium Wines, Spirits and Liqueurs.

An enjoyable afternoon with Italian wines!
The Dante Alighieri Society of Brisbane invites all lovers of Italian wine and food to come to a wine tasting and exploration of selected wine districts of Italy, guided by Ian McBride and Filippo d’Arrò.
We will enjoy the wines with a taste of some Italian regional foods. The wines we will sample have been generously provided by Filippo, from Italiquore Premium Wines, Spirits and Liqueurs.
Filippo also invites Dante members to purchase from his selection of Italian wines at very reasonable prices.
It is possible to PRE ORDER the wines: order forms will be available at the Dante office or sent to you by email on request. Once we compile all the forms the wines will be brought to the Dante rooms where you can pick up your order and pay for it.

“The Hidden History of Milan”, book presentation by Giulia Borelli
in English
Giulia will take us on a journey through Milan's hidden history, exploring some of the city's lesser-known places. Her book "Quattro passi nella storia: Milano nascosta" is neither a travel guide nor a history textbook, but rather una passeggiata through the Milan that often goes unseen, made up of extraordinary people and stories. In presenting the book and showing us Milan through new eyes, Giulia will also explain how this project came about.
Copies of the book will be available on sale for $25. It is written in a natural yet easily comprehensible Italian and has been read by Italian learners and speakers around the world.
Giulia Borelli is an Italian teacher, podcaster, and founder of Italian Time Zone, (https://www.italiantimezone.com/) a project dedicated to those who want to learn Italian through history and culture.

COME TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF ALL THINGS ITALIAN

Bring your friends, family, loved ones, and enemies. Organise your own team of eight players or let us help you form a team. There will be prizes for the lucky winners and, of course, a fabulous raffle. Please don’t delay, as numbers are limited and must be finalised by Monday, 15th June. Caleb, from BrisQuiz, will be our trivia master once again, therefore no-one has any insider knowledge. Ticket price includes trivia and a meal, so don’t forget to make your food selections. We’re back!

Refresh your soul with a "buon piatto"of Italian songs!
Do you enjoy live singing, good company and freshly prepared Italian snacks? We would love for you to join us at CANTA CHE TI PASSA!

The Dante Brisbane will host a musical gathering where singers can share their love of Italian songs, whether opera, art song or "canzoni popolari". Our aim is to provide a safe, friendly space for performers at all stages of their artistic journey. Who knows what musical gems we will discover?

WHEN: 31st July, 6:00pm for 6:30pm start.
WHERE: Dante Alighieri Brisbane Cultural Centre, 26 Gray St, New Farm

You can book a time slot of 4-8 minutes and you are welcome to sing any Italian music from Vivaldi to Verdi and beyond! Opera, art song, sacred song, "canzoni popolari", all are fine. We only ask that you sing in Italian, or if you are singing a sacred song in Latin that you choose an Italian composer. Duos and ensembles of up to 5 voices would also be lovely.
Please stay tuned for rehearsal information. You will be provided the details of our designated pianist when you register. If you like you can also bring your own pianist (or your guitar).
Please let us know your repertoire music by 21st June, so we can prepare the program.
