ANNOUNCEMENT

The Macedonian Embassy in Canberra will organize a consular day in Brisbane, Queensland on June 1.

We invite all interested individuals who require consular services (certification of powers of attorney and statements – for which a valid identification document is required), legal consultations, information/submission of applications for citizenship, issuance of travel documents, and applications for documents, to attend in Brisbane from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the premises of the Macedonian Orthodox Church "St. Bogorodica", address: 142 James St, New Farm, QLD.

Ilija Petrovski
11 July 1948 – 3 May 2026

Ilija passed away on 3 May 2026, surrounded by family.

Husband of Stevka, devoted father to Kristina, Meri, and Robert, father-in-law to Jason and Tylie, grandfather to Zhańe, Ejanah, Leandro, Mila, Alex, and Max, and great-grandfather to his little girls Jordan, Halena, and Meliana.

Ilija’s funeral service will be held on Friday, 22 May 2026 at 10:00am at
St Mary’s Macedonian Orthodox Church,
142 James Street, New Farm.

The burial will follow at Mt Gravatt Cemetery at 12:15pm - Location 4A1

A gathering to honour Ilija’s life will be held afterwards at St Mary’s Macedonian Orthodox Church Hall, New Farm.

The Church Committee warmly invites you to join us this Sunday, 12th April, as we come together to celebrate Easter.

Lunch and dessert will be prepared for all attendees between 11:00am and 1:00pm, and everyone is welcome to join us and share in this special day.

The bar will also be open, offering a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for your enjoyment.

🔔 Please note: The Storey Bridge will be closed on Sunday morning due to a bike race event, and there will be traffic diversions in place.

Please allow extra time when travelling. We look forward to seeing you all there!
