Last Sunday the annual pickleball Homehill Cane Country Cup was held and what a great event it was. Bowen saw a large contingent of players with teams entered in the social, intermediate, advanced levels and subbing for teams that were short of players.
Congratulations to Joyce Morris who subbed into the winning Homehill team in the High Intermediate level. Joyce proudly displayed her winners glass to everyone in the tennis grounds and in the car park.
Also congratulations to Robs team for coming second in the same event.
Bowens social teams also featured strongly with Lori’s team running third and picking up the special prize of Winners of Fair Play. Congratulations to Lori’s team as this prize is nominated by their fellow competitors for playing in the spirit of the game.
Thank you to everyone who had a hand in organising this great event…..see you all again next year.

The Bowen pickleballers were at it again at the Mackay QPT last weekend.
Here are the highlights.

There was some confusion in the Bowen Tennis Association Court Booking System between booking for Pickleball or Tennis.
The Court Booking System has now been enhanced. When you book a court there is now a “Tennis” tab and a “Pickleball” tab for your convenience.
Click on the relevant tab you wish to play and book your preferred court, day or night.

Have a social game of pickleball from 430pm -600pm at the Bowen Tennis Association on the Esplanade, Queens Beach.
All levels…..lots of fun…..lots of laughs.

QPT Townsville 2026......what a weekend.
More than a dozen players representing Bowen Pickleball travelled to Townsville to participate in the 2026 QPT tournament. There were a range of medals bought home through hard fought matches and tough competition. The biggest winner of the weekend though was Pickleball. It was great to see the camaraderie, encouragement and friendships shine through all teams at all levels. Congratulations to all the medal winners and thankyou Townsville for a great weekend.....we will be back.
