🎨 STELLA ART COMPETITION – AUGUST 🎨

We’re back with another art competition… but this month, there’s a twist! 👀 ✨

To celebrate International Youth Day 2026, we want you to show us what you hope for the next generation. 🌏💭

International Youth Day recognises young people around the world and their aspirations for dignity, opportunity, quality education, meaningful work and a sustainable future.

This year’s theme particularly highlights young people facing challenges including poverty, climate change, geographic isolation, limited economic opportunities and unequal access to digital technologies.

💭 What do you hope the future looks like for the next generation?

Tell us through art – visual OR written!

Your entry can be:
🎨 A drawing or painting
📸 Photography
✍️ A poem or short story
🖍️ Or another creative medium – think outside the box!

🏆 HERE’S THE TWIST… YOU’RE THE JUDGES!

After entries close, 3–5 finalists will be selected and posted to our social media pages during the first week of September.

❤️ ❤️ ❤️ The public will then vote by liking their favourite entry!❤️ ❤️ ❤️

The finalist whose artwork receives the MOST LIKES during the voting period will be crowned our August Art Competition winner and receive a $25 Visa Gift Card! 🏆🎉

Kate is a friendly face leading our Client Services Team, bringing almost seven years of experience and a genuine passion for supporting people to achieve what matters most to them. 💙

What Kate enjoys most about her role is connecting with people from all walks of life and helping them work towards a meaningful and fulfilling life, on their own terms.

When she's not at work, you'll likely find her on the AFL field, either playing or coaching. She's also currently studying to become an Occupational Therapist, combining her passion for helping others with her commitment to ongoing learning. And if there's fish and chips on the menu, Kate's happy! 🏉🍟

📍 Stella takes on Brisbane! 📍

Faileen and Ashley have been busy in Brisbane this week attending the NDIS Conference, hearing directly about the latest reforms and what they mean for participants, providers and the wider disability community.

A highlight was hearing Scott McNaughton from the NDIA speak openly about the reforms and the direction of the NDIS.

As Faileen shared, "After hearing Mr McNaughton speak from the heart and provide further information on the reforms, I’m feeling more optimistic about the changes ahead.”

It’s great to have Stella represented at these important conversations, staying informed and bringing the latest insights back to our team, clients and community as we continue navigating the changing NDIS landscape together.

How lucky are we to have a team that genuinely cares about staying informed, advocating for our community, and making a difference for the people we support! 💙

🌟 Meet the Team – Maggie Staggs 🌟

We're delighted to introduce Maggie, our Human Resources and Quality Coordinator and Support Worker. 💙

With an incredible 35-year career as an Operating Theatre Nurse, Maggie brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and experience to the Stella team. Her nursing career took her across the globe, with opportunities to live and work in England, Canada, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia.

Away from work, Maggie enjoys keeping her mind active through Contract Bridge Card Game, spending time in her garden, and spoiling her three beloved dogs - Jilly, Rocket, and Sam. 🐾🌿

What Maggie loves most about her role is the opportunity to work across different areas of the organisation, supporting both our team and our clients in meaningful ways.
