History Week runs across NSW from 5–13 September, with this year’s theme, "Keeping Stories". It is an annual celebration of history organised by the History Council of NSW, encouraging communities to explore the stories, people and places that help us understand our past.

At Bomaderry High School, we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate our passionate and knowledgeable History teachers who inspire our students to explore the people, places, ideas and events that have shaped our world.

Our History classrooms encourage students to ask questions, investigate evidence, challenge ideas and develop their own perspectives. From ancient civilisations to modern Australia, our students discover that history helps us understand the world we live in today.

A huge thank you to our History teachers for the enthusiasm, expertise and inspiration they bring to their classrooms every day.

Happy History Week!

“History helps you understand why the world is the way it is today. You start seeing connections between things that happened in the past and what is happening now.”

At Bomaderry High School, we have high expectations for all our students. We believe in you, and we expect you to believe in yourself too.

Sometimes doing the right thing means saying 'ugh! As if!' when others are trying to bring you down.

Don't be clueless. Stand your ground. Make good choices. Back yourself.

Bring on Week 8! 💚❤️

Amazing work!

Amazing work!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Aunty Brooke Stewart, one of our Aboriginal Education Officers, who has been named a 2026 NSW School Support Staff Award winner in the Impact on Community category.

This recognition is a wonderful reflection of the impact Aunty Brooke has on our students, families, school and wider community over her 20 years working in public education.

Through care, cultural knowledge, connection and commitment to our young people, Aunty Brooke builds relationships, strengthens community connections and helps our students feel a genuine sense of belonging.

Her contribution extends well beyond the school gates, making a lasting difference to the Shoalhaven community.

Congratulations Aunty Brooke, your impact is felt by so many, and this recognition is so very well deserved! ❤️💚

Congratulations to Year 10 student Serena G., who has made it through to the state final of the Junior Secondary Speaking Award!

Serena won her local final before going on to win the zone final, securing her place among just eight students from across NSW competing in the state final.

Serena will now take the stage at NSW Parliament House in Sydney in October to compete at the highest level of the competition.

What an incredible achievement!
