🚨 Busy weekend for our Boisdale Volunteers and other local CFA crews! 🚒🔥

While one of our members completed a chainsaw course, other crews gathered at the Boisdale Hill Climb for a group training exercise. 🧑‍🚒🌾

Crews from Boisdale, Valencia Creek, Cowwarr, Glenmaggie, Coongulla, Newry, Sale, and Maffra worked hard refreshing critical skills:

🚨Water drafting from static supplies
🚨Mock running grass fire containment
🚨Hazardous tree identification
🚨Entrapment drill crew safety drill

Local brigades are always upskilling to keep our communities safe! 💪🚒

Helpful information from Abbey our Community Safety Coordinator at Boisdale Rural Fire Brigade CFA

Please help our local volunteers avoid a false alarm!

Before you strike a match, take two minutes to register your burn-off. If you don't, a passing neighbour might see smoke, call 000, and our Boisdale crew will be paged to turn out unnecessarily.

How to register:
💻 Online (Best option): Head to www.firepermits.vic.gov.au
📞 By Phone: Call the Notification Line on 1800 668 511

Quick reminder before lighting up:
✅ Check local Wellington Shire council local laws.
✅ Look at the wind forecast before you start.
✅ Clear a 3-metre break around the fire.
✅ Tell your neighbours so they don't worry.
✅ Never leave the fire unattended and have water on hand.

🍕🎬 Pizza & Film Night at the Station!

Tonight was the 5th Monday of the month, which means our Boisdale CFA volunteers and families gathered to unwind. It was a great night catching up with everyone.
