Callide Valley Croppers. What a disappointing season. However, there are some quite respectable dryland crops around the district, and the irrigated areas are looking great. Most crops are fast approaching maturity, so here’s hoping the weather can remain favourable for harvest., If you have a respectable crop please consider entering into the 2027 Field Crop Competition.
If you’re growing irrigated Lucerne or Hay / Grazing crops, it may be worth looking at them before the weather turns too hot and insect and w**d pressures increase.

☕️ Volunteers Afternoon Tea ☕️

What a lovely afternoon celebrating the wonderful volunteers who help make the Callide Valley Show such a special community event! 💛

We were thrilled to have around 50 people join us for an afternoon of friendship, laughter and appreciation, with a fantastic spread of nibblies and drinks provided by the Callide Dawson Machinery Club. Thank you for helping make the afternoon so enjoyable!

A special acknowledgement was also made by President Tanya to Cassandra Warmington, thanking her for her time and dedication as Secretary. 👏

To all our hardworking and dedicated volunteers — thank you! Your time, energy and commitment are truly appreciated. It’s because of people like you that the Callide Valley Show continues to be such a wonderful community event. ❤️

Meet Megan Kent, representing Callide Valley Show and the Central Queensland Sub-Chamber at the 2026 Queensland Rural Ambassador State Finals.

Agriculture has shaped Megan’s life from an early age. Growing up on her family’s cattle property, establishing her own Brahman stud at just 16, and now working with producers across Queensland through the stockfeed industry have strengthened her passion for beef production, genetics and the future of agriculture.

For Megan, rural leadership means taking initiative, showing up for your community, bringing people together and creating opportunities for others to learn, contribute and grow.
