What an incredible showcase of talent in this year’s Photography Sections at the 90th Callide Valley Show! From striking images of cattle and playful dogs to breathtaking portraits and mesmerising reflections, the range of subjects was truly impressive.
Each entry beautifully captured the essence of its moment — light, emotion, and story — through the lens. A wonderful display of creativity and skill from our local photographers. 📷
Congratulations to everyone who entered and helped make this year’s exhibition such a visual delight!
Here are the results and some samples of the brilliant photographs submitted for this year's Show.

As our 90th Show drew closer, recipe books across the Callide Valley were examined; ingredients were weighed; bowls, muffin pans, beaters, cake tins and biscuit trays were spread across benches lightly dusted in flour and sugar ... Ovens were watched closely, cakes were tested, and sighs of relief were breathed when everything was "done". From fudges and Anzac biscuits to scones and beautifully decorated cakes, our local cooks entered a wonderful array of delicious-looking baking. Well done chefs! Here are the results for this year's Cooking Sections at the Callide Valley Show 🙂🧁🍪🍰

The main stage came alive over two incredible days at the 90th Callide Valley Show, showcasing the amazing talent right here in our community.
The program included Studio 21, Biloela State School Hip Hop, Diamond Dance Co, and Redeemer Lutheran College Cheer/Dance, with every performance bringing something special.
🎶 Beautiful voices from Local Vocals and St Joseph’s School Choir filled the air, while the talented musicians in the Valley Quartet and the Biloela District Band sounded magnificent.
Smiles, sequins, tutus, flutes, cello, violin… and some seriously cool moves and grooves – our performers truly entertained the crowd from start to finish! 💃🕺
👏 A huge thank you to all the performers for making this milestone Show one to remember!

SHOW SOCIETY APPRECIATES LIFE-SAVING DONATION

The thousands of people who attend the Callide Valley Show each year now have an extra layer of protection thanks to the generous donation of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

Defibrillators can help save a person’s life when they are in cardiac arrest. Having an AED permanently on site and registered with the Queensland Ambulance Service is an invaluable first-aid tool. If a defibrillator is registered, the QAS can tell someone who has called Triple Zero (000) for a suspected cardiac arrest, where the AED is located. This means they can access defibrillation before paramedics arrive.

The Callide Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Society was presented with an AED earlier this year, with the defibrillator registered with the QAS in time for the recent 90th Callide Valley Show.

The Show Society would like to thank the QAS and the Joel Weeks Foundation for this initiative and for supplying us with an AED through local fundraising efforts.

If you would like more information about the benefits of an AED and the registration service provided by the QAS, you can read more about it here: https://www.ambulance.qld.gov.au/our-services/aed-registration

All things bright and beautiful, all pumpkins big and small! The Callide Valley Agricultural & Pastoral Society introduced something new for the pavilions at this year's Show - a whole section dedicated to pumpkins! You could enter your biggest pumpkin, you could enter your smallest pumpkin, you could even enter your weirdest-looking pumpkin! Then there was the opportunity to add some pizzazz to your pumpkin with a decorating competition. We are very pleased with not only the number of entries but also with the enthusiasm and creativity of Callide Valley residents.

The heaviest pumpkins were grown by Jeffrey Stringer - 78kg, Abigail Lamb - 68.5kg, Trevor Stringer - 68.5kg, and Jayden Lamb - 52 kg. Do you think you could grow a heavier pumpkin for next year's Callide Valley Show? It's never too early to start making plans for your giant pumpkin as it will need to be planted around Christmas time this year to mature in time for the Show.

Geraniums and gerberas, begonias and bromeliads, frangipanis and ferns, roses, succulents, chrysanthemums, orchids, hibiscus and more! Local green thumbs put their best plants forward for the 90th Callide Valley Show, making the pavilion a leafy and colourful paradise for all to enjoy. Well done to our gardeners! Everything looked so beautiful and healthy. Check out the results and photos of these wonderful specimens.
