Our members have been busy making Easter gifts for residents of a local Nursing Home.

We have had a lot of fun, learnt some new skills and truly hope the recipients enjoy them.

Felt appliqued egg pouches stuffed with solid mini eggs and an egg shaped birdseed ornament for the residents to hang in a tree outside their bedrooms...and enjoy watching the birds celebrate Easter 🐣

We wish everyone a very Happy and Safe Easter.

Our second meeting for 2026 and the seasons are changing.

We explored foliage from some of our members gardens, crafted and shared stories and laughter, while enjoying some hot cross buns and deluxe hot chocolates!

Lots of ideas for 2026 so look out Benalla! We are keen to share more of our passion for country craft and hospitality with you throughout the year.

This week, Benalla CWA and Benalla CWA Night Roses coordinated together to prepare meals for approximately 50 people; the residents of Ruffy.

In true CWA spirit, our ladies cooked up a storm. Beef and lamb casseroles and curried sausages were just some of the meals prepared.

On Thursday, one of our members loaded up a vehicle and drove the meals to Ruffy where they were gratefully received by: Anne Douglas, Henrietta Noye and Inday Noye at the Ruffy Public Hall.

It's not much, but the food was prepared with love and true CWA friendship. It's simple things like this, true gestures of kindness and compassion that, we trust and hope, will aid in rebuilding the communities impacted by the devastating fires.

To all of our members, we thank you for your dedication and willingness to serve others.

To the residents of Ruffy and other fire affected communities, we wish you calm days ahead as you continue to navigate such overwhelm and rebuilding.

2 days of baking and decorating and 66 residents from Violet Town Nursing Home had early Christmas presents delivered yesterday!

We sang Chrisrmas carols, laughed and thoroughly enjoyed knowing the recipients would enjoy some wholesome traditional baked goods. Lemon Shortbreads and Sugar Cookies.

Today our members met for the final time for 2025. We gave thanks for our fellowship and friendship, for the skills we have acquired and shared through meetings and craft workshops, for the good that we do as a powerful organisation and for the gratitude and privilege we feel for supporting our community and enabling progress and change.

We feasted on delicious food prepared by our talented members.

We planned for 2025 - watch this space....much will be happening.
