Room at the Table Inc is a Not For Profit community organisation that offers a range of non sport geek subculture activities aimed at reducing social isolation by building connections and community, improving social inclusion for all. We have room at the table for everyone and are open to everyone in Benalla Rural City, north east Victoria and beyond. RATT is a safe place for all kinds of people t
o have fun and build connections with others. Room at the Table Inc meets on land belonging to the Bangerang, Yorta Yorta, Taungurung & Waywurru. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging and we acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. At Room at the Table Inc we've been using the phrase "non-sport, geek-subculture activities" to describe the activities we run. Currently these activities are all casual and just for fun, although there's always the possibility of running competitions and tournaments. As we grow, we hope to be able to add even more activities to our list. Boardgames: Our focus is modern boardgames like Catan, Wingspan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Dixit and more, but we'll also play games like Backgammon, Chess, Mahjong, Cluedo, Scrabble, Uno etc. Trading Card Games (TCGs): We play casually Magic: the Gathering Commander and hope to be starting up more TCGs when we get more volunteers - Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Flesh and Blood, One Piece, Elestrals and Digimon are on the list. Tabletop Roleplaying Games: At RATT we use a variety of systems - D&D 5e, Pathfinder, Kids on Brooms, Kids on Bikes, Blades in the Dark and more. You can play as pretty much anything - animals, air benders, wizards, elves, dwarves, monsters, fighters, merchants... There can be magic and swords, mysteries to solve, space to explore, ghosts to help, grand balls to plan, apocalypses to survive, high sea adventures and more. Face to face and digital
Mischievous Makings: every 4 weeks we get together to work on our current creative project and connect with each other. CyberRATT: every 4 weeks we gather together to play digital games like Jack Box, Mario Kart, Mario Party etc
RATT Studio: We are learning the basics of filming, script writing, subtitling and editing. It's also where we make videos of unboxing boardgames, how to plays, people playing boardgames, run digital TTRPGs, make podcasts, interview people, livestream stuff and more.
