Through this initiative, AFSBF aims to secure sponsorships for 450–600 orphaned, underprivileged, and at-risk children in Bangladesh every year, with particular emphasis on orphaned girls and children facing extreme social and economic vulnerability.

Mr. Syed Haider, First Secretary and Head of Development Cooperation at Australian High Commission, Bangladesh, visited the Bangladesh Head Office of Arfan Familys Smiling Baby Foundation

During the visit, Mr. Haider and the Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, Mr. MA Arfan, listened to the personal stories and challenges faced by children affected by child marriage.

The Foundation remains optimistic about opportunities for future collaboration with the Australian High Commission, Dhaka, to prevent child marriage, protect girls’ rights, and promote education, safety, and a brighter future for vulnerable children.

A Business Meeting to Promote Made in Australia Products in Bangladesh

A productive business meeting was held between the Director of SJ TRADE (AUS) PTY LTD, a reputable Australian company, and MA Arfan, Founder and Executive Director of Arfan Family’s Smiling Baby Foundation .

The meeting focused on potential collaboration in the supply, marketing, and distribution of high-quality, popular, and in-demand Made in Australia products in Bangladesh, with an emphasis on expanding market opportunities.

Ms. Sanzida Islam Era, Volunteer Marketing Coordinator of the Foundation, also participated in and facilitated the meeting.

Australian High Commission, Bangladesh Delegation Visits ‘THE AUSTRALIA MART’ in Mymensingh

Mr. Syed Haider, First Secretary and Head of Development Cooperation at the Australian High Commission, Bangladesh, accompanied by Mr. MA Arfan, Founder and Executive Director of Arfan Family’s Smiling Baby Foundation (AFSBF), visited THE AUSTRALIA MART, a social enterprise supermarket initiative of the Foundation, in Mymensingh, Bangladesh.

The visit was also attended by Mr. Shahriar Islam, Senior Program Manager, and Ms. Rifat Alam Nidhi, Program Manager at the Australian High Commission, along with the Foundation’s Senior Advisor, Assistant Professor Markoni Arafat, and Assistant Professor Tamanna.

Arfan Familys Smiling Baby Foundation launched its Women’s Empowerment Programme, inaugurated by Ms Hasnat Jahan Khan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Trishal.

The programme provides free training for women from low-income households, helping them develop the skills to produce high-quality bags. It aims to create sustainable income opportunities through overseas sales while contributing to Bangladesh’s foreign exchange earnings.

During the event, MA Arfan, Founder and Executive Director of AFSBF, discussed opportunities to expand domestic sales and export Bangladeshi-made products to international markets.

When women gain skills and financial independence, families thrive and communities move forward.
