Representing Community Support Services (CSS) at the Canterbury‑Bankstown Council Community Expo at WSU Bankstown was an enriching experience that strengthened our connection with the diverse communities we support. Attending for the first time allowed us to engage directly with local organisations, service providers, and community members, broadening our network and deepening our understanding of emerging needs across the region.

Our social work students also had the valuable opportunity to volunteer at the event, gaining first‑hand experience in community engagement, service navigation, and professional networking.

Their involvement not only supported the smooth running of the expo but also provided meaningful exposure to real‑world practice, strengthening their confidence and understanding of the sector.
