Over six weeks, you’ll explore the history of photography and learn how
lighting, colour, and framing can transform your images. You’ll also develop essential skills in basic photo editing and learn how to plan and set up your own Christmas-themed photoshoot.
Bring along your children, grandparents, best mates, or loved ones and create beautiful, lasting memories while putting your new photography skills into practice.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to capture special moments and create your own memorable Christmas photographs.
About the facilitator:
Alexandria (Alex) in her own words - "I love a new challenge, from traveling across Mongolia to renovating houses to becoming a mum. As my family and I have moved into different communities over the years I have done my best to become a local via, teaching yoga, running playgroups and sharing my photography knowledge. On weekends I'm busy in the garden and watching the footy, Go Pies!"
Course Breakdown
Photography - History and Portraits: 1 hour per class for the first five weeks,
(Final week 6 - 2 hours)
Weeks 1 - 5 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Week 6 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
WEEK 1: Introduction - History of Photography and framing a photo
WEEK 2: Photography Lighting and Colour wheel
WEEK 3: Portraits – using camera phones or personal cameras – set up lighting, compose and take photo
WEEK 4: Photo editing – light room free app for phone.
WEEK 5: Family Portrait Theory
- brainstorm ideas for photoshoot week 6
- create set ups with lighting and do mock photos so confident and ready on the day, - create run sheet and times for families or public to come in
WEEK 6: Christmas Family Shoot
- Bring in props from home, use phone or personal cameras
- Come in 1 hour early to set up
