Whether you're a current volunteer, former member, supporter, or friend of Scouting, we'd love to see you there as we recognise achievements, share stories, reconnect with old friends, and honour a valued member of our Scouting family.

🤠🐴 Yeehaw! What a weekend!

More than 100 Scouts and volunteer leaders from across North Coast Region saddled up at Camp Eagle Eye for our annual Region Rally, taking on 12 Wild Wild West-themed activity bases packed with adventure, teamwork, learning and plenty of fun.

A huge congratulations to Nambucca Valley Scout Group, whose patrol rode away as our overall champions, along with their Patrol Leader who was named Champion Patrol Leader for outstanding leadership throughout the weekend. 🏆

Most importantly, every Scout challenged themselves, built new friendships, learnt new skills and demonstrated incredible teamwork and enthusiasm across the entire event.

A massive thank you to all of our volunteer leaders, activity operators, support crew and adventurous Scouts who helped make the weekend such a success. Events like these simply couldn't happen without you.

📸 And a special shoutout to TRL Photography for capturing the spirit of the weekend so perfectly. If you're looking for a photographer, we can highly recommend them – the photos are absolutely fantastic!

Over the weekend, three of our leaders — Steven Males, Melinda Hine, and Tara Chapman — attended the Training Team Conference.

We’re excited to share that Melinda has been appointed as an Assistant Leader Trainer, and Tara has been appointed as a Leader Trainer. 🎉

Both roles are part of the National Training Team, supporting and leading training courses for trainee leaders across NSW.
A huge congratulations to you both — such well‑deserved achievements!

North Coast Region Scouts would like to congratulate Nigel from the 1st Lismore Scout Group on being recognised as a joint winner of the Northern NSW Local Health District Healing Hearts Consumer Recognition Award. 🧡

While many know Nigel as a Senior Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Lismore Base Hospital, our Scouting community knows him as a caring, dedicated and community-minded leader who has spent countless hours supporting and mentoring young people through Scouting.

This award recognises the incredible impact Nigel has on others during some of the most difficult moments in their lives — something that comes as no surprise to those who have worked alongside him in Scouting. His compassion, kindness and commitment to helping others shines through in everything he does.

Congratulations Nigel, and thank you for the positive difference you continue to make both in Scouting and throughout the wider North Coast community. 👏

Nigel didn’t plan to be a nurse. He originally wanted to be an ambulance officer – his nursing career was meant to be temporary.

Today, 37 years later, Nigel is a senior registered nurse in the Lismore Base Hospital Intensive Care Unit.

Last year, he became a joint winner of our Healing Hearts Consumer Recognition Award after a patient nominated him. They never forgot how Nigel made them feel during one of the hardest times they’d been through.

💬 “For a community member to recognise that a bedside nurse has had a positive impact on their stay and made an effort to promote this was very special to receive,” he said.

If one of our nurses or midwives from Grafton to the Tweed has left a lasting impression on you, please consider nominating them for this year’s Healing Hearts Consumer Recognition Award. 🧡

🕔 Nominations close this week at 5pm Friday 15 May.
