SHE CAME. SHE COACHED. SHE CONQUERED!

After criss-crossing Australia and leaving choruses buzzing in her wake, NICKY SALT saved one final burst of coaching magic for Redland Rhapsody Chorus - and we had been waiting very impatiently for our turn!

From the moment she arrived, the room was alive. She challenged us, inspired us, made us laugh and sprinkled a generous helping of that special Pommie magic over our sound.

By the end of the night, we sounded different, felt different… and really didn’t want to give her back!

Sadly, while we’re plotting ways to keep her, Nicky is already airborne and heading home to the Motherland, her family and her own chorus, Viva Aca****la

Come back soon, Nicky. One night was never going to be enough — we have unfinished business! 💕

🌟 CELEBRATING SOME VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE 🌟
Our wonderful Foundation Day was also the perfect occasion to present two very special awards and our annual scholarships.
💜 SUSAN LANSDOWN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established to perpetuate the memory of our much-loved and sadly missed former Director, Susan Lansdown, and to honour her great love of singing and Redland Rhapsody Chorus.
Each year, Susan’s husband, Ted Down, generously donates $1,000 to support and encourage younger and newer members of our chorus.
This year, the scholarship was shared between six very deserving recipients:
✨ Lana Lee
✨ Lisa Brancatella
✨ Jacky Creegan
✨ Kymmie de Nooyer
✨ Rachel Hunt
✨ Teri Wilcock
We know Susan would be delighted to see her legacy helping these lovely women continue their singing journeys with Redland Rhapsody.
💙 THE DIRECTOR’S AWARD
This very personal award is chosen by our Master Director, Louise Brannon, and presented to someone who has particularly captured her heart during the past year.
This year, that special person was the lovely Ralda Forzin. Congratulations, Ralda, a beautiful and very well-deserved honour!
⭐ THE LAUREL SANTRY SHINING STAR AWARD
Named in memory of another very special and much-missed member of our chorus, this award recognizes someone whose dedication, generosity and shining spirit make an extraordinary contribution to Redland Rhapsody.
Our 2026 Laurel Santry Shining Star is our President extraordinaire, Karen Phillips!
Karen gives an enormous amount of her time, energy and creativity not only to our chorus, but also to Sweet Adelines Region 34. Her commitment, determination and seemingly endless patience make her a truly deserving Shining Star.
Congratulations to all our scholarship recipients and award winners. We are so proud of every one of you!

Imagine the 𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮, 𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝘆, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳, 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱 and the 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘁

That was the vision for our 30th birthday celebration: to capture the beauty of the place we are so lucky to call home and weave those colours through the whole day.

For over a year, we had a vision for this day. A celebration inspired by the colours and beauty of our Redlands Coast, with Minjerribah as the perfect backdrop. Slowly that vision took shape, from our commemorative scarves to every little detail, until it all came wonderfully to life at our 𝟯𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We travelled across Moreton Bay to beautiful Minjerribah, where the weather decided to be every bit as perfect as the plan. With the ocean sparkling beyond the windows, we settled in for an afternoon of fabulous food, laughter and 30 years of memories.

We looked back through a special anniversary video, heard stories and speeches from across the years, celebrated some very special people with awards (more to come about that) , and even took a trip through our fashion history with a parade of chorus costumes from the past.

And just when we thought the setting couldn’t get any more magical, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼. Clearly they had heard there was a birthday celebration happening.

Then, wrapped in the colours of our beautiful commemorative scarves, we headed down to the beach. We sang together with the sand beneath our feet and the Pacific behind us, created a giant 𝟯𝟬 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱 and watched as a drone captured the moment from above.

And because this is Redland Rhapsody, 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝟯𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀, the Rhapsodies

Here’s to 30 years of friendship, harmony, laughter and 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻’ what we do

A huge shout-out too to The Straddie Hotel for such a beautiful setting, fabulous food and wonderful hospitality, Cakes by Simone for our fabulous cake and to Stradbroke Flyer Gold Cats for getting us there and back so smoothly.
