RSPCA NSW is appealing for public assistance after a young, male Rottweiler was found dumped inside a wheely bin at Keirle Park, Manly.

The dog was found by a member of the public in the early hours of June 11, 2026 and presented to a veterinary clinic.

It had a deep wound on the right side of its body and was in a very poor body condition with overgrown nails.

The Rottweiler is currently in a stable condition and receiving required veterinary treatment.

RSPCA NSW Inspectors are urging members of the public with any information, including potential CCTV footage, to please come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to contact RSPCA NSW at 1300 CRUELTY (1300 278 3589) or 9770 7555.

Almost fifteen-year-old Mabel (her birthday is this Saturday!), came into the shelter after a caring member of the public found her alone and injured.

Underweight and in poor condition, we found several things contributing to her discomfort including painful mouth lesions from significant dental disease, osteoarthritis, and hyperthyroidism.

After two dental procedures, daily medication to stabilise her thyroid, and injections to help alleviate her arthritis pain, Mabel spent time recovering in foster care. Safe and free from pain, Mabel blossomed into a friendly, curious and affectionate lady who enjoys human companionship, pats and close contact.

Now Mabel is finally ready to find her forever family! It's been a long road getting to where she is today, and we're really excited to see her find her happily every after πŸ’•

If you can offer Mabel a calm and supportive home (with no other cats!), learn more via the link in the comments or meet her at our Peninsula shelter.

Thanks to our friends at Petbarn, all senior cats like Mabel have no adoption fee to give them the best chance at finding their perfect new homes πŸ’–
