Every month, we take time to pray for different needs around the world. Throughout September, a group of 500+ prayer partners have been praying for families impacted by the devastating floods in Nepal. 🙏

We have prayed for those in mourning, that they would be comforted.
We have prayed for first responders and aid workers.
We have prayed for recovery efforts, that people would receive help when it's needed most.

This month, after 11 and a half years, we’re saying a very special farewell to Julie Krause as she heads into retirement! 💛

Over the years, Julie has shared the ALWS story with countless schools, churches and communities, helping people across Australia see how their compassion can make a difference.

She has also travelled to work alongside our partners in places including Indonesia and Ethiopia, bringing those experiences and stories home to share with others.

But just as importantly, Julie has brought so much energy, warmth and joy to the ALWS team. She will be very missed!

“Today, I stand on my own feet. I can support my family, save money, and dream about expanding my business.”

Meet Tigist. She joined a savings and loans group in Ethiopia that you help support, where she was able to borrow 100,000 ETB (around $856 AUD) to open a small shop.

Through learning about financial management and putting in hard work, Tigrist has repaid her loan and her shop is now thriving!

That income helps Tigist provide for her daughter and younger siblings, save for the future and plan for what comes next.

It also gives her independence to make decisions about her life. Thank you for standing with woman like Tigist!

A special thank you to the wonderful Girls' Brigade Companies in the Brisbane South Region, particularly 79th Brisbane Company, who helped make PRECIOUS bracelets for Walk My Way! 💛

Thanks to their hard work, every person who completed Walk My Way in Brisbane received a bracelet to take home.

But these bracelets are more than something to wear. Each one carries a special meaning and can help start a conversation about why girls deserve to be safe, supported and able to go to school.

So, if someone asks about your bracelet, tell them about PRECIOUS and how together, we can help protect girls from child marriage and support them to build a brighter future.
