Sunshine Charity Golf Classic | Golfers Tee Off for a Cause

For the 12th year this past May, golfers from near and far gathered at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort for the Sunshine Charity Golf Classic.

This year, the event raised $5,000 more than last year, enabling donations of $19,800 for the Sunshine Trust and $19,800 for Southern Peninsula Community Support.

With a week of activities, a silent auction, and a hole-in-one challenge sponsored by Lexus of Wodonga, players gave it their all!

The event wrapped up with an excellent presentation dinner, featuring a wine tasting evening hosted by Buller Wines.

Sunshine Trust Chair Brad Robertson said, “The Sunshine Charity Golf Classic is a wonderful example of communities coming together to help people when they need it most. As Chair of Sunshine Trust, I am incredibly grateful for the generous $19,800 contribution, which will directly support better cancer care across our region.”

Thank you to the YMGCR team for their outstanding hospitality during this much-anticipated annual event.

Thank you to every player, sponsor, volunteer and donor who return year after year.

A wonderful initiative supporting specialist medical equipment for cancer patients alongside emergency relief, food distribution, and homelessness support close to home.

Throwback Thursday | Doing Poppy Proud

Max Daly and Billy Kotzur, both nine years old, turned their family holiday at Culburra Beach into a fundraiser for local cancer care.

Inspired by the pink Test match, they made signs, set up a table, and asked for donations around the caravan park. They even offered to help campers with small jobs.

By the end of the day, Max, Billy and their friends had raised $230 for the Sunshine Trust!

For both boys, supporting cancer care is close to their hearts, with their poppies having received care at the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.

Thank you, Max and Billy, for showing that anyone can make a difference in our community.
