What’s new in neurology — and what will change clinical practice?

This year at , we will once again present two dedicated sessions highlighting the latest breakthroughs in the treatment of neurological diseases.

These two dedicated sessions will highlight recent advances in the treatment of neurological diseases, with a particular focus on the most influential studies and clinical trials published between January 2025 and January 2026.

The programme will present key developments in disease-modifying therapies, emerging therapeutic approaches, and preventive strategies that may significantly influence future standards of care.

By bringing together leading clinicians and researchers, the sessions aim to facilitate critical appraisal of recent evidence, encourage interdisciplinary discussion, and provide expert perspectives on the evolving landscape of neurological therapeutics.

The Brussels’ Neurology Declaration, signed on 17 March 2026, is a joint declaration in signed by 42 presidents and representatives of national neurological societies from across Europe and beyond. The declaration is a formal commitment to strengthening neurology across Europe through coordinated and long-term action.

The sixth priority is "to advance research and innovation", which is a commitment to encourage investment in neuroscience and neurology research, including translational science, clinical trials, digital technologies, and precision medicine, to accelerate discoveries that improve patient outcomes.

The Declaration sends a strong, unified message: neurology must be prioritised within health systems, research agendas, and policy discussions if Europe is to respond effectively to the growing burden of neurological disease.

Stress affects far more than how we feel in the moment — it can have a profound impact on brain health over time.

In this episode of the Brain Health Mission Podcast, our host Jana Midelfart-Hoff speaks with Max Hilz, expert in autonomic nervous system disorders and autogenic training, about what happens in the brain and body during stress, how chronic stress influences long-term brain health, and why stress regulation is so important for overall wellbeing.

The conversation also explores autogenic training — a scientifically grounded relaxation technique designed to reduce stress and support resilience — and how it can become a practical tool for everyday life.
