ESOI - European Society of Oncologic Imaging A non-profit organization dedicated to advancing and coordinating scientific activities in Oncologic Imaging

The European Society of Oncologic Imaging is an apolitical, non-profit organisation, exclusively and directly dedicated to promoting and coordinating the scientific, philanthropic, intellectual and professional activities of Oncologic Imaging. The Society’s mission at all times is to serve the health care needs of the general public through the support of science, teaching and research and the qua

lity of service in the field of Oncologic Imaging. The European Society of Oncologic Imaging will set its focus on establishing Oncologic Imaging (OI) as an area of special interest and expertise in the field of diagnostic and interventional radiology with the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and particularly with all established committees of ESR in order to provide both a scientific forum and to promote research as well as technical developments in Oncologic Imaging in Europe. Through dissemination of knowledge and research information, in particular across Europe, the European Society of Oncologic Imaging aims to advance and improve all radiological aspects of patients with malignancy, the quality of diagnosis and treatment of oncologic patients by means of medical imaging.

Looking for a fresh perspective on how artificial intelligence is changing the game for cancer screening? 🧠

While many discussions focus on the theory behind algorithms, our upcoming webinar shifts the focus entirely to what happens when technology meets real-world clinical environments. We will be diving into how radiologists can practically manage AI tools without losing diagnostic oversight or compromising accuracy.

If you are curious about how these tools handle workflow integration, multidisciplinary reporting, and early detection across different imaging modalities, this is the session to watch.

Get a head start by securing your spot today and preparing your questions for our live Q&A.

Every year, Europe is paying a staggering €442 billion in lost productivity due to premature deaths of its citizens.

A competitive Europe starts with a healthy Europe.

In the midst of negotiations on EU’s next long-term budget, more than 490 healthcare experts, scientists, academics, and patient advocates have sent a joint letter to EU leaders and national governments calling for health spending to be firmly protected and earmarked in the next MFF.

The European Parliament has already backed this position. Now member states must decide whether they will follow through and put health where it belongs ➡️ at the heart of Europe’s future.

ESOI is proud to be a signatory of the letter.

Reflecting on the experience at ESOI Touchdown 2025! 🧠✨

The team at Think has published a feature article by Andrea Cuschieri about our last event, ESOI Touchdown 2025 in Malta. The piece focuses on how the meeting balanced clinical science and AI with patient communication and empathy.

A huge thank you to THINK for this fantastic feature and for helping us spotlight the human dimension of radiology as we look forward to our next chapter! 🤝

The two grant winners of the 2026 ESOR/ESOI Exchange Programme for Oncologic Imaging Fellowships have been selected! 🏆

Out of 13 impressive applications from young radiologists across Europe, two outstanding professionals have chosen for this intensive, three-month modular training journey.

They will soon head to premier European reference training centres, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany) and Hôpital Européen Georges-Pompidou (Paris, France), to gain mentored, hands-on experience in advanced modalities, including CT, MRI, PET-CT, and PET-MRI, and participate directly in multidisciplinary tumor boards.

A huge congratulations to our 2026 fellows! This is a major milestone toward subspecialisation in cancer imaging, and we look forward to seeing your progress.

We also want to extend our sincere thanks to the ESOI Evaluation Committee and the ESOR Office for their rigorous review and commitment to training the next generation of specialists. 🤝

Stay tuned as we follow our winners' journeys into their host training centres later this year!
