We are a Vienna-based NGO. Our projects are connected with UA. They are implemented all around Europe

We are a Vienna-based NGO founded after the war in Ukraine started in February 2022. Our mission is to promote a united Europe and support Ukraine on its way to the EU Integration. Key areas of our activities:

- democracy building (civil society, policy transparency, inclusion, citizens engagement in public policy);
- human rights and gender equality;
- development of an effective society;
- promoting the rebuilding of Ukraine;
- knowledge and experience exchange for professionals in different fields. Projects we focus on:

- promoting a united Europe;
- rebuilding of Ukraine and supporting its integration into the EU. Although we are based in Vienna, our initiatives relate to Ukraine, its rebuilding and euro integration;
- non-formal education;
- experience and knowledge exchange.

If you want to know how business in Austria really works, go where the system lives.

On October 27, participants of Professional Integration HUB 4.0 had their first study visit to the Wirtschaftskammer(WKÖ), the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.

🗣️ Elena Frauenlob, Nikola Anna Mayrhuber and Kambis Kohansal Vajargah explained how the WKÖ supports entrepreneurs. They also shared insights on choosing between a sole proprietorship and a company, trade licences, taxes and VAT, selling abroad, and the social insurance details that catch many founders by surprise. Their own experience and practical advice on running a business made the discussion even more valuable.

A highly insightful visit that gave our participants practical, first-hand knowledge of the Austrian business environment.

Шлях до Європи починається з громади: стартова зустріч відбулася!

14 жовтня партнери проєкту зустрілися онлайн, щоб розпочати спільну роботу. Участь взяли представники громади Гарманнсдорф (Австрія), Паланської громади, Всеукраїнської асоціації громад та EUCFI. Модерувала зустріч директорка та співзасновниця EUCFI Олена Бекреньова.

Від Гарманнсдорфа виступила Anna Hirtenfelder:

«Для нас передусім важливе двостороннє партнерство. Ми раді поділитися своїм досвідом і водночас хочемо дізнатися від вас, що працює, а що ні – особливо в кризовий час».

Голова Паланської громади Руслан Яремчук розповів про громаду: 18 населених пунктів, 12 закладів загальної середньої освіти, 8 закладів дошкільної освіти та лікарня, що обслуговує близько 120 тисяч мешканців регіону.

«Під час візиту нам важливо побачити, як усе працює насправді, на місці. А ми, своєю чергою, поділимося досвідом роботи у складних умовах».

Заступник голови Всеукраїнської асоціації громад Сергій Замідра наголосив:

«Євроінтеграція – це не лише переговори між урядами. Насамперед це зміни на рівні громад».

Співзасновниця EUCFI Ольга Олефірова Olga Olefirova представила експертну складову проєкту: чотири онлайн-семінари з експертами, робочі групи та методичні рекомендації, які в лютому вийдуть у цифровому форматі.

Наступний крок – навчальний візит української делегації з 14 осіб, яка включає представників Паланської громади та Всеукраїнської асоціації громад, до громади Гарманнсдорфа 1–7 листопада 2026 року.

Шлях до Європи починається з громади 🇺🇦🇦🇹

Стартуємо новий проєкт!

Австрійська громада Гарманнсдорф, Паланська громада з України за підтримки Всеукраїнської асоціації громад та загальної координації Європейського центру свободи та незалежності розпочинають співпрацю.

Співпраця передбачає взаємний обмін знаннями та практиками: Паланка вивчає європейську практику, а Гарманнсдорф – досвід громади, яка працює під час війни.

Що попереду:

📍 листопад – навчальний візит до Гарманнсдорфа
💻 листопад–грудень – 4 онлайн-семінари
📘 лютий – рекомендації, адаптовані до України
🤝 квітень – круглий стіл у Паланці та фінальна конференція

Напрацювання проєкту стануть доступні сотням громад по всій Україні.

Path to Europe Starts Locally 🇺🇦🇦🇹

The Austrian municipality of Harmannsdorf and Palanka Community in Ukraine are starting their cooperation, supported by the All-Ukrainian Association of Communities and coordinated by the European Centre for Freedom and Independence.

The partnership is built on a mutual exchange of knowledge and practice: Palanka is learning from European municipal practice, while Harmannsdorf is learning from the experience of a community that keeps working in wartime.

What’s ahead:

The project’s results will be available to hundreds of communities across Ukraine.

This project is funded by the Austrian Development Agency as part of International Partnerships Austria and the Austrian Association of Cities and Towns (AACT) through the Municipal Exchange Fund Austria for Ukraine – A4U, which is implemented by KDZ Centre for Public Administration Research as a part of U-LEAD with Europe – a multi donor action of the EU and its member states Germany, Denmark, France, Austria, Poland and Slovenia.

35 years ago, Ukrainians chose their future.

Today, they are defending the right to still have one.

On August 24, Ukraine marks 35 years since the restoration of its independence. An anniversary that, in 2026, carries a profound and painful meaning.

At its core, independence is the right of a sovereign nation to speak its language, shape its society, elect its leaders, build its institutions and determine the borders and future of its own country.

Over 35 years, Ukraine has built far more than a state.

It has built a vibrant civil society, a globally recognized digital sector, and generations of entrepreneurs, engineers, artists and leaders. During the full-scale war, Ukrainian ingenuity has continued to transform technology and defense, from digital public services and cybersecurity to drones and defense systems studied far beyond Ukraine.

Behind these achievements are people who keep building while their country is under attack. Who teach children underground, restore electricity after strikes, work, volunteer and plan for a future russia is trying to take away.

What the world calls resilience, Ukrainians experience as survival.

The possibility of that survival is secured every day by those who defend Ukraine, paying the highest price for its independence with their courage, their blood and their lives.

Donetsk is Ukraine. Luhansk is Ukraine. Mariupol is Ukraine. Melitopol is Ukraine. Berdiansk is Ukraine. Severodonetsk is Ukraine. Crimea is Ukraine.

Years of occupation cannot rewrite the sovereignty of a country. Neither military force nor the passage of time can turn the seizure of Ukrainian territory into a legitimate claim to it.

On August 24, we honour those who made Ukraine’s independence possible and those who defend it today.

Happy Independence Day, Ukraine.

May the day come when independence is something Ukrainians can simply live, rather than something they have to die to defend.

Glory to Ukraine! 🇺🇦
