NEW RESOURCE ALERT ๐Ÿ“ข

As we mark , we celebrate progress while also confronting a difficult truth:
the civic and policy space for girlsโ€™ and womenโ€™s rights continues to shrink in many contexts.

Now more than ever, we must refocus, strengthen solidarity, and rebuild movements that center the lived realities of women and girls especially those in rural and underserved communities.

In that spirit, we are proud to share a new resource developed under the PACCESS initiative with :

๐Ÿ“˜ Beyond Silence: Evidence, Power, and Policy Pathways for SRHR and Abortion Care in Zvishavane- https://tinyurl.com/Beyond-Silence-Study

This publication explores community knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions about Zimbabweโ€™s termination of pregnancy legal framework, and highlights the urgent gaps between:

โ€ข Policy and the law
โ€ข Health systems
โ€ข The lived experiences of women and girls

We are proud to be pioneering localized evidence that brings grassroots realities into national SRHR policy and advocacy conversations.

๐Ÿ“ The findings come at a critical time as Zimbabwe continues national conversations around the proposed removal of Amendment Clause 11 in the Medical Services Amendment Bill.

The evidence shows that many women and girls particularly in underserved areas still face:
๐Ÿ’” Restrictive legal environments
๐Ÿฅ Limited access to health services
โš–๏ธ Stigma and judgment from providers
๐Ÿ“‰ Misinformation about reproductive healthcare

Too often, these realities remain unheard.

This study therefore calls for renewed policy dialogue grounded in evidence, human rights, and the dignity of women and girls.

๐Ÿ‘ Huge appreciation to team and Zvishavane Community

We celebrated Day with a powerful theme: Give To Gain. At Womandla Foundation, we are committed to empowering girls and women to take up space and shine ๐ŸŒธ.

In partnership with Zvishavane Town Council, we hosted a impactful dialogue with over 120 girls from Marian High School, our new Eagles ๐Ÿ’!

We explored building self-esteem, kindness, respect, bold confidence, and autonomy - reminding them that self-love and self-appreciation unlock full potential ๐ŸŒŸ.

These girls are future leaders, changemakers, and game-changers. We ate honored to support them ๐ŸŒŽ. Let's lift each other up and spread love, kindness, and empowerment ๐Ÿ’–.

To all girls and women:
โ™ก You are strong,
โ™ก You are capable, and
โ™ก You are enough ๐ŸŒŸ.

๐ŸŒ The Women Behind Womandla

Behind every program, every community dialogue, and every empowered girl is a team of passionate women working together to create change.

Today we celebrate the Womandla Foundation Secretariat โ€” a group of dedicated leaders committed to advancing opportunities for adolescent girls and young women across Zimbabwe.

Together, they represent the power of collective leadership.

As we reflect this International Womenโ€™s Day:

"When women come together with purpose, vision, and solidarity, we create pathways for lasting change."

โœจ When we give, we gain.
