Midlands Children Hope Centre

Midlands Children Hope Centre This is Midlands Children Hope Centre (MCHC) page. We assist the distressed and destitute street children and other vulnerable children, join us!

Midlands Children Hope Centre was established in 1996 as a response to the growing number of children living on the streets. We befriended them on the streets, shared whatever food we had or ate whatever they ate even if it was stale dry bread to show that we didn't look down upon them.We decided it was better to find shelter for them to better assist them. From day one the vision was to empower t

hem first through providing them an educational opportunity. Question Ndou, the founding Director moved into a rented four roomed house with the very first group of 22 wild and untamed street children and never looked back since then. Our slogan then was, "give a fish and you have given a meal for the day, but teach them how to fish, you have given them a meal for life". Today Midlands Children Hope Centre is a registered charity with a seven selflessly give their services for almost nothing. Our main objects are as follows;

a) To assist the distressed and destitute children by providing shelter, food and clothing with the long term aim of reuniting the children with their families. b) To train, provide vulnerable children with skills and counselling so that they can become self-reliant. c) To advocate for the rights and needs of these children and encourage local community involvement. Midlands Children Hope mainly depends on donations for us to be able to achieve our objectives. If you want to know about us and the work we do, feel free to contact us on [email protected]

The Bible says in James 1:27, "Pure and undefiled religion before our God is this: to visit orphans... in their distress." As we welcome all of you our friends and supporters into the new month of May 2026, we once again express our deepest gratitude to all of you for the numerous donations that kept flowing to our less privileged children at our children's home. Each and everyone of you is so dear and special to us. To be honest these donations keep the home on its feet, without them the children will go hungry and naked. Special thanks go to the following; Bigboi & his MSU friends, Rukudzo Chigwana, HLF, AG our Norwegian visitor, MSU students, Kimberly Simon from MSU, Mrs. Nyamukapa, Esther Foundation from MSU, Lifeline Foundation, MSU Christian Medical fellowship team led by Tongopa Christabel, MSU AFM students on campus, Lene, Students Helping Zimbabwe led by Rutendo Shanel Chiambura and Tanatsva Maunganidze for your generous donations, and spending time with the children. That is love at its zenith!
Please don't tire, keep them coming, spread the word about us, like and share our page and encourage someone to give. Remember there is no donation too small and there is no useless donation.

We remain grateful for the ongoing donations that sustain the children's home. These contributions are instrumental in ensuring the home's continued operation. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Kadohwata, Chosen Family Church, United Methodist Church, Passion of Christ International Church, and Mabhururu for their generous grocery donations, as well as Rukudzo Chigwana for her consistent financial support. Additionally, we are pleased to report that the English cucumbers in the greenhouse are thriving, and we have harvested the first guavas from the home's garden, alongside green mealies from the backyard garden. It is not too late to contribute, and we welcome donations of any size, as every contribution counts. Remember, no donation is too small to us.

Knowledge is indeed power, as aptly stated by a Chinese philosopher, "If you are planning for a lifetime, get an education." We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our partners and friends who have contributed to this noble cause through their generous donations. Our sincere appreciation goes to Themba Hope Project and Themba Hope Trust for their support in paying school fees and providing uniforms for the children we support in the communities. We also appreciate Higher Life Foundation for covering school fees for the children at the children's home, Mr. Mbizo for donating school uniforms and shoes to the children residing at the home, Mr. Nyamukapa and Njakenjake for their contribution of school satchels, Spirit Embassy and African Echo for donating school stationery, and Mrs. Munyaka for donating a school tracksuit to a special needs child. Furthermore, we extend our deepest gratitude to Mabhururu for their generous grocery donations. May God abundantly bless you all.

Special appreciation is reserved for Rukudzo Chigwana for her consistent cash donations, Christ Embassy for their contributions of pre-loved clothing, Julia Mudereri for the sanitary pads, Gamuchirai Mykolaiv for the two beautiful cakes, Lene for the toys and medical donations, Mayor's Christmas cheer fund for their support, Shallom Mafuta for grocery donations, and the resident minister for their grocery contributions. We also acknowledge and thank all individuals who continue to endorse and promote our organization, resulting in a significant increase in inquiries, visits, interactions, and donations, all of which are deeply appreciated.

One of our esteemed alumni, Munashe, consistently demonstrates his generosity by bringing gifts for his younger siblings, including lunch boxes, snacks, and drinks, to support them on their way to school. His selfless actions serve as a commendable example of gratitude towards his family. We also received substantial grocery donations from Mabhururu of 98.4 radio station, and a couch from Mrs. Muvandi, for which we are grateful.

As previously promised, MCHP Norway (now rebranded as Themba Hope Project) successfully sourced and donated a new lithium-powered solar system for houses number one and two. This generous donation brought immense joy and celebration to the children, who had endured prolonged periods without electricity for lighting, entertainment, and studying. MCHC extends its sincerest gratitude to MCHP Norway for their enduring partnership since 2011. We invite you too to join our mission by partnering with us and making a meaningful difference in the lives of these disadvantaged children.
