Building on our journey with the Invest and Transform group, we are taking a massive step forward toward institutional growth and sustainability!

Through invaluable training and capacity building from TSURO and World Vision Zimbabwe, our team is currently facilitating the process to update and strengthen the group's constitution.

Our goal?
We are preparing to officially register Invest and Transform as an Internal Savings and Lending (ISAL) group under the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Dev.

Why this matters:
Unlocking formal capital: Official registration will allow the group to open formal pathways, access credit, and secure loans from financial institutions to expand member-owned enterprises.

Long-term sustainability: Standardizing our operational framework ensures strong governance, accountability, and security for every member's savings.

Scaling impact: Moving from a community savings club to a recognized enterprise model empowers our young members to build resilient, scalable businesses.

Happy new week, family!

This week, we are celebrating a major milestone for youth financial empowerment in Mhakwe!

Back in 2021, we launched the Savings for Transformation (S4T) initiative and founded our pioneer group, Invest and Transform. What started as a simple idea to build financial resilience among young people has grown into a powerful movement for local economic independence.

Here is what this journey has delivered so far:

100+ Youth impacted: Over 100 young people have gained vital financial literacy training and direct access to youth-led lending and savings support since 2021.

Sustained local growth: Moving into the 2026 season, the Invest and Transform group continues strong with 20 dedicated young members building a habit of saving, investing in local enterprises, and supporting each other's dreams.

When young people pool resources, build financial discipline, and support each other, sustainable community transformation happens.

Here’s to every member who has taken a step toward financial freedom with us over the last 5 years and to many more cycles of growth!

Happy New Week! ✨

This Global Week of Climate Action, Young Achievers joins movements across the globe to transform the urgency of the climate crisis into meaningful, youth-led collective action.

Climate action goes far beyond acknowledging that our planet is changing. It is about confronting the structural inequalities that dictate who suffers the greatest harm and who holds the power to shape the future.

As young leaders, we are asking the critical questions:

Responsibility AND costs: Who is driving climate harm, and who is being forced to pay for it?

Financial accountability: Where is climate finance actually going, and who decides how it gets spent?

Representation: Are the communities on the frontlines and the youth who will inherit this planet truly being heard?

Young people deserve more than a future designed for us, without us. We must sit at the decision-making tables where policies are drafted, resources are allocated, and economic transitions are planned.

This week, we are moving beyond awareness without action, promises without implementation, and finance without accountability.

Let us organize. Let us participate. Let us follow the climate money. Together, we demand a transition that is green, just, inclusive, and accountable.
The climate crisis demands action and action demands accountability.

Building an Inclusive community together in Mhakwe Ward 18!

Today we participated during an empowering Gender and Disability Inclusion Workshop hosted by TSURO in Mhakwe Ward 18.

Together, we broke down key concepts surrounding gender equality and worked directly to confront systemic local barriers.

Core definitions explored:
S*x vs. Gender: Distinguishing biological characteristics assigned at birth from the socially constructed roles, behaviors, and expectations assigned by culture.

S*x roles vs. Gender roles: Understanding biological functions (e.g., pregnancy, breastfeeding) versus flexible social duties (e.g., household chores, community leadership) that must evolve to foster true equity.

Key challenges identified:
Exclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from local decision-making spaces. (VIDCOs & WADCOs)
Lack of disability-friendly infrastructure and accessible public spaces.
Ongoing threat of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and child early marriages.

Our Community action plan:
1️⃣ Governance representation: Guarantee the deliberate inclusion of PWDs in local structures like Village Development Committees (VIDCO) and Ward Development Committees (WADCO).

2️⃣ PWD Documentation: Establish a comprehensive local database to effectively track needs, distribute resources, and improve accessibility.

3️⃣ Targeted Advocacy: Mobilize community-wide lobbying campaigns to eradicate GBV and end child early marriages.
Anchored in the Social Model of Disability (Impairment + Barrier = Disability), we are committed to dismantling systemic barriers so every member can thrive!

Governance starts at the grassroots!

Real community development happens when young people have a seat at the table where local decisions are made.
During our recent dialogue in Mhakwe Ward 18, young people highlighted a clear priority: structural inclusion in decision-making bodies like Village Development Committee (VIDCOs) and Ward Development Committees (WADCOs).

From climate adaptation to local healthcare, young people are not just the future but they are active stakeholders today. When we move from tokenism to genuine youth participation, local governance becomes more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable.
