Celebrating 5 years of impact, growth and community transformation | 05 May 2026

This year marks a significant milestone for Young Achievers as we proudly celebrate our 5th Anniversary, a journey defined by resilience, purpose, innovation, and lasting community impact.

Founded with a vision to empower young people and strengthen communities through leadership, advocacy, and sustainable development, Young Achievers has grown from a bold idea into a dynamic youth-led organization making meaningful change across communities.

Over the past five years, we have worked tirelessly to create opportunities for young people, women, and marginalized communities to participate in decision-making processes, access critical knowledge and lead solutions that improve their lives. Through our various programs and partnerships, we have championed youth empowerment, climate action, social accountability, education, entrepreneurship and community resilience.

Our journey has not been without challenges, but every obstacle has strengthened our commitment to service and transformation. From grassroots initiatives to strategic partnerships, each milestone reflects the collective effort of our dedicated team, committed volunteers, trusted partners, and the communities that continue to believe in our mission.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we take time to reflect on key achievements:

- Strengthening youth participation in governance and development.
- Supporting community-led climate resilience initiatives.
- Promoting social accountability and citizen engagement
- Advancing entrepreneurship and economic empowerment opportunities.
- Building partnerships that drive sustainable and inclusive development.

These five years represent more than time, they represent lives touched, voices amplified, and futures reimagined.
We extend our deepest gratitude to every stakeholder, donor, partner, volunteer, and community member who has been part of this journey. Your support, trust, and collaboration have made this success possible.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to expanding impact, deepening inclusion, and creating innovative solutions for the challenges facing today’s youth and communities.

The journey continues and the best is yet to come.

Happy 5th Anniversary to Young Achievers!

Together, we rise. Together, we transform.

We are honored to mobilize and facilitate a transformative journey for young people from Ward 18 under the SkillUp Apprenticeship Program. This initiative reflects the power of coordinated, organized youth engagement in driving sustainable community development.

We are excited to witness the outcomes of this project and to see what is possible when young people are empowered with the right skills, opportunities, and support systems.

As part of the program, a group of 24 young participants has taken a bold and innovative step by venturing into fish farming and poultry production. This youth-led initiative, implemented in collaboration with Skillup Zimbabwe and Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training , demonstrates a strong commitment to building resilient livelihoods and contributing to local economic growth.

We look forward to tracking their progress and celebrating the impact of youth-driven solutions in shaping a better future.

Yesterday 2 April 2026, our Programs officer Emjgildah Chirigo participated in a capacity building training on Movement Building and Advocacy, held at Manica SkyView Hotel in Mutare. The training was facilitated by Saywhat under the YCA4SOTRA Project.

The session provided valuable insights into:

- Core principles that guide impactful advocacy.

This engagement strengthens our commitment to amplifying community voices, influencing policy, and driving sustainable change, particularly in advancing youth-led initiatives, climate action, and gender equality.

Regional ACTIVE Knowledge Sharing & Learning Workshop – Harare, Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

On 31 March 2026, we had the privilege of participating in the Regional ACTIVE Knowledge Sharing and Learning Workshop held in Harare represented by our team leader Bineloge B Nhembo under the ACTIVE Project, in partnership with VSO Zimbabwe

The workshop convened Civil Society Groups (CSGs) under the ACTIVE project from Zimbabwe, alongside partner organisations from Botswana, Zambia, and Eswatini, creating a dynamic platform for collaboration, reflection, and shared learning across the region.

Key Objectives of the Workshop:

- Showcasing local partner experiences on power shift, equitable partnerships, and locally led development
- Highlighting progress in organisational preparedness, sustainability, and readiness for diversified funding
- Sharing evidence on how volunteering strengthens equitable engagement, organisational development, and community impact
- Facilitating joint reflection to identify areas for adaptation and improvement in localisation efforts
- Strengthening collaboration and co-creating actionable recommendations to enhance enabling environments, partnerships, and capacity-building in Year 2 of the ACTIVE Project

Key Takeaways:
This workshop was a powerful platform for experience sharing, networking, and learning from diverse organisations doing impactful work across the region.

A critical reflection emerging from the discussions is the urgent need for organisations to transition from donor dependency towards diversified and sustainable funding models. As the funding landscape evolves, there is a growing shift from financing isolated projects to supporting systems-level change, requiring organisations to adapt strategically.

We remain committed to strengthening our approaches to localisation, sustainability, and inclusive development, while continuing to build meaningful partnerships that drive lasting community impact.

Monday motivation from Young Achievers

A new week means new opportunities to create change in our communities.

At Young Achievers we believe that young people, especially young women and those from rural communities, have the power to shape a sustainable and inclusive future. Every tree planted, every voice raised for equality, and every action taken for the environment brings us closer to the world we want.

This week, let’s commit to:
✅ Taking action for our climate
✅ Supporting and uplifting young women and girls
✅ Working together to build resilient communities

Remember: Small actions today create big impact tomorrow.

Let’s rise, lead, and achieve together.

International Women’s Day | 8 March 2026

Today, Young Achievers joins the world in celebrating International Women’s Day under the theme “Give to Gain.”

This theme reminds us that when we invest in women and girls, everyone benefits. When communities give young women opportunities, education, leadership spaces, and resources, we gain stronger families, resilient communities, and a more sustainable future.

As Young Achievers, our work in climate action and gender equality continues to highlight the power of young women, especially in rural communities. When young women are empowered with knowledge, skills, and platforms to lead, they become powerful drivers of environmental protection, community development, and social transformation.

Today we celebrate the courage, resilience, and leadership of rural girls and young women who are stepping forward to protect the environment, advocate for equality, and shape a better tomorrow.

Let us continue to give support, give opportunities, and give space for women and girls to lead because when women rise, societies gain.

Happy International Women’s Day!
