VOH is inviting applications from highly motivated, passionate, and innovative students to join our organisation as Student Interns.

Available Positions:
✅ 2 Positions – Agronomy, Crop Science, or BSc Agriculture
✅ 1 Position – Fisheries and Ecology

This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical field experience in sustainable agriculture, community development, environmental management, and livelihood programming within rural communities.

As Zimbabwe proudly marks 46 years of independence, we also celebrate a remarkable milestone in our team the birthday of our dedicated Administration Officer, Vongai Matumbura .

Just like our nation’s journey of resilience, growth, and strength, Vongai continues to embody commitment, excellence, and a positive spirit in all that she does. Her work supports the heartbeat of our organisation, and today we honour both her life and her contribution.

We are proud to share this documentary highlighting the work and impact of Valley of Hope Organisation, a youth-led community-based organization transforming livelihoods in Chimanimani District, Zimbabwe.

The documentary captures powerful stories from communities where VOH is working to strengthen climate-resilient livelihoods, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and youth empowerment. Through farmer training, natural resource regeneration, and inclusive community initiatives, VOH continues to support smallholder farmers and vulnerable households to build resilient and self-reliant futures.

More than a project story, this documentary reflects the voices of communities, the resilience of rural households, and the power of locally driven development. It shows how innovation, collaboration, and community leadership can restore hope and create sustainable opportunities for present and future generations.

The fruits of unity, community participation, inclusion, and the true meaning of empowerment are now visible in Ward 17 of Chimanimani District.

Through the United Nations Development Programme - UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme, Valley of Hope has successfully supported vulnerable families to strengthen their livelihoods. Despite the January–February dry spells, hope has been restored as the project secured a reliable irrigation water supply conveyed from Biriiri River over a distance of approximately 4.5 km.

A total of 35 households are now benefiting, each cultivating an average of 0.06 hectares under irrigation. Families who once depended entirely on unpredictable rainfall are now producing crops with greater confidence, improving household nutrition, and creating opportunities for income generation.

This initiative demonstrates that when communities unite, participate actively, and are included in development processes, real empowerment becomes possible. Ward 17 stands as a practical example that resilient agriculture and community-driven development can transform rural livelihoods.

Valley of Hope remains committed to supporting community-led solutions that build resilience, strengthen food security, and contribute to sustainable rural development in Chimanimani.
