L’Arche, the Ark-of Noah, a place of refuge, a place promising new life once the waters of distress have subsided, is the name of a world-wide federation of communities of people with mental disabilities and those who share their life. The first L'Arche was founded in 1964, in Trosly, Northern France.

Cheers to us🥂as we are being represented in Taizè, France 🇫🇷 by Maggie and Ivy.

For the past 2 years they have been taking part in an online learning space with other peers within the L’Arche communities designated by the name "Great Voices". The group is for people with and without intellectual disabilities gathered together to share our success stories, how they live them in our L'Arche communities and how best they want their voices to be heard. We are mostly proud that the two have gone to meet their fellow colleagues and now they can co-create this space on-site as well.

The Great voices sessions has again reminded us the importance of inclusion and accompaniment in living the mission of L’Arche, sharing life together, listening to one another, respecting every person’s dignity and securing a future where every voice is heard.

As a community we wish them a wonderful and enjoyable stay in France 🇫🇷 and looking forward to embrace the knowledge and new ideas they are going to bring home.

L’Arche Zimbabwe wishes everyone a blessed Good Friday!

On this solemn day, we reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, as told in the Gospel of John 19:30: "It is finished." May this day inspire us to embrace love, compassion and forgiveness.

Larche Zimbabwe joins in prayer and solidarity, remembering the true meaning of Easter and the hope it brings.

Happy Easter Friday to all!

Today we honor the vibrant spirit and resilience of those living with autism. We celebrate the unique perspectives of those on the spectrum and the countless ways they make the world brighter just by being themselves. We embrace our core-members living with Autism in our community of L'Arche Zimbabwe for they give us courage on a daily basis to manage behaviours of concern.

Today is about awareness, but it’s also about recognizing our journey in sharing life with people who have Autism. It’s not always easy, but it’s full of love, and that matters.

The 2026 observance of World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD), held under the theme “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value,” highlights and affirms the dignity and worth of all autistic people as part of our shared human future. At a time when misinformation and regressive rhetoric about the lives of autistic people is resurfacing, this year’s theme is a call to action to move beyond limiting narratives and to recognize the inherent dignity, equal rights, and unconditional worth of every autistic person.

On World Autism Awareness Day, let us recommit to create a world where no person with autism is left behind.💜💙🩵
