🌍 ABOUT THE LOW COST BIODIGESTER PROJECT

Eastern Province is amongst other provinces in Zambia that has been hit badly with Climate Change and Environmental degradation. Amongst the casuse is Deforestation, "Cutting down trees". Knowing for a fact that all schools in the country are currently enjoying free education and feeding progrom which is very commendable to the government, at Green Nature we are supplementing governments efforts to ensure these good objectives are reched in q sustainable manner without disturbing the ecosystem by providing clean energy from waste. With suppprt from AU-EU Youth Lab European Union in Zambia this project is being implemented.

The Low Cost Biodigester Project is an initiative aimed at promoting affordable, sustainable energy solutions in schools while strengthening environmental conservation, climate action, and the practical knowledge of young people.
Our focus on Eastern Province is driven by the need to promote accessible clean energy alternatives, reduce dependence on firewood for cooking, address deforestation, and equip learners and communities with practical knowledge of renewable energy and sustainable waste management.
Through this initiative, Green Nature is demonstrating that schools can become centres of environmental innovation, climate education, and sustainable development we complement the grow Zambia Agenda.

🌱 ADVANCING CLIMATE-SMART AGRICULTURE FOR SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS! 🌾

Agriculture is one of Green Nature’s key thematic areas, and as a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), we remain committed to complementing government efforts in strengthening agricultural productivity, food security, and farmers’ resilience to climate change.

On Breezefm , Benson Zimba, Green Nature’s Sustainable Livelihoods Manager, and Gabriel Lungu an Agriculture Social Change Agent who are experts engaged listeners in an insightful discussion evaluating the 2024/2025 farming season, highlighting key lessons and exploring priorities for the upcoming 2026/2027 season amid concerns about the predicted El Niño effects. A programme courtesy of Action Aid with support from GIZ Zambia.

Farmers were encouraged to prepare early, embrace climate-smart and conservation agriculture practices, Agroecological approaches such as diversifying crops, conserving water, and consider drought-tolerant varieties to build resilience against changing weather patterns.

At Green Nature, we believe that informed farmers are empowered farmers! Together, let us promote sustainable agriculture and strengthen community participation in building a food-secure and climate-resilient Zambia for Sustainable livelihoods.

Green Nature is engaging learners living with disabilities at Magwero Special School as we implement the Low-Cost Biodigester Project at the school.

This initiative demonstrates our commitment to inclusive development—ensuring that every Zambian, regardless of their circumstances or abilities, has an opportunity to participate in and benefit from sustainable development initiatives.

Green Nature is positioning itself to contribute to the Grow Zambia Agenda by promoting solutions that protect our environment, strengthen community resilience, and create opportunities for all. Addressing deforestation and promoting clean, sustainable energy solutions are essential drivers of sustainable development.

We firmly believe that meaningful development cannot be achieved if we fail to protect and care for our environment. A healthy environment is the foundation upon which resilient communities, thriving economies, and a prosperous Zambia are built.

And the fantastic learners at Magwero Special School are taking the lead! 🌱♻️
