To the residents of Tweefontein Phumula and the Thembisile Hani Local Municipality at large, good morning.

As promised, our organisation's representative and chairperson, Johannes Rapuru Matlala, visited the Tweefontein (Phumula) Medical Services centre and Fire Station to investigate their response protocols for health emergencies and fires. Specifically, we sought to determine whether they respond promptly or await authorisation from the Nkangala District Municipality, based at Middleburg. As per provincial government protocol, district approval is required prior to dispatching emergency vehicles, a procedure that is both lawful and standard practice. Residents are advised to contact 112 for emergencies, which will connect them to the District, while the fire department can be reached directly at 0728684514.

Our investigation revealed a shortage of ambulances, with only four available to serve the expansive Thembisile municipality, clinics included. Considering the rapid population growth in areas such as from Machipe, Bundu, Verena, Wolvenkop (Thabakhubedu), Tweefontein, Kwaggafontein, Moloto, amongst others, there is an urgent need to increase the number of ambulances(fleet) by at least six.

The stations complained about getting lost due to no street names, and uneven roads.

Additionally, the fire department requires immediate attention to its transportation needs.

The power of social media.

Community of Tweefontein Phumula, yesterday I received a call from a certain departmental official requesting our organisation not to continue with a march against ambulances and firefighters in our area. This is after we posted about the proposed march after INGOMA. Instead I was requested to write a memorandum and handover to the RDP stations and will be collected. I will do that next week. We agreed that if they don't meet our demands, the march will continue, resulting in the disruption of the traffic along Miliva road. Who knows, maybe schooling and jobs will be affected (transportation). Therefore, I cannot guarantee what will happen if that march do take place, anything is possible. Let them do the right thing by providing to us what constitutionally belong us.

Give Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar.

I hope the department do the right thing by availing ambulances and firefighters at anytime are needed without going through Witbank first.

Good evening Tweefontein Phumula residents.

Bahlali, we are confronted with a serious problem that demands immediate attention. Our village has ambulances and fire extinguishers, but we must obtain approval from Witbank/Middleburg before accessing these services. Why is this necessary? Moreover, why does SAPS not follow this procedure, despite lacking vital resources, such as vans? KUDLALWA NGATHI LA. Maybe even at clinics are facing same problem. Unfortunately, in most instances, they respond late, resulting in irreparable harm, including loss of life and property destruction.

Therefore, after INGOMA, we will organize a march to the two RDP depots, where we will demand the provision of essential services without unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles. Failing to meet our demands, next will be Kwamhlanga Government Complex departments.

The community of Tweefontein Phumula ward 23 is strongly opposing a councillor candidate who is seeking re-election for a third term despite not residing in the ward, contravening the organisation's guidelines. The meeting collapsed for the second time today. The organisation's insistence on imposing the candidate on the community against their wishes has led to a proposed two-day total shutdown next week, with no schooling or transportation, and the dates will be announced soon.

The organisation is scoring own goals and committing su***de by ignoring voters' call. The question is why the organisation involve the community but can't listen to their opinions and advice on alternative candidates, in particular women? The organisation must learn from Tshwane in 2016 at which Sputla Ramokgopa and Mapiti Matsena both contested for mayorship albeit from one organisation, which resulted with Thoko Didiza being appointed against the will of the residents, eventually losing Tshwane, to date.
