BITOU WASTE | It has come to our attention that domestic household waste is being disposed of in the skip bins. Please be advised that skip bins are strictly for green waste only.

Throwing domestic waste into the skips creates health hazards, attracts pests, and increases disposal costs. Household rubbish must be placed in the designated refuse bins provided for domestic use.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our community clean and safe.

This picture caused quite a bit of controversy on our message group! 🤣

At first glance, we honestly thought it was a pink bra floating in the ocean. 👙🤣

Unfortunately, it turned out to be something far less amusing... discarded balloons.

Have you ever thought about what happens to balloons after the party is over?

Imagine being a turtle and mistaking a balloon for food. After swallowing it, the turtle can no longer eat properly and may slowly starve to death.

Or picture a seabird becoming entangled in balloon strings or a seal getting wrapped up in the plastic while swimming.

A few minutes of fun can leave a lasting impact on our marine life.

Please think twice before releasing balloons. Our oceans and the animals that call them home deserve better. 🌊🐢🦭
