𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐲 𝐉𝐎𝐂 | 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞

Through continuous CCTV surveillance, community reporting, and close coordination with SAPS, Law Enforcement, Fire Services, Emergency Services and other municipal departments, the Mossel Bay Joint Operations Centre managed and supported 34 incidents and operational matters during the past week.

🎥 CCTV SURVEILLANCE & INCIDENT RESPONSE — 24
CCTV monitoring continued to provide real-time situational awareness, allowing suspicious activity, fires, public safety concerns and possible criminal activity to be identified and escalated for immediate intervention.

🔥 Fire & Smoke Incidents
Several fires and smoke-related incidents were detected through CCTV monitoring:

* An open fire involving the burning of cables was detected next to the Ockert Bothma substation. Law Enforcement was notified and the individual extinguished the fire.

* A possible shack fire was detected in Barcelona. Fire Services attended and confirmed that one building and one shack had burnt. No injuries were reported.

* Smoke, possibly from a skip fire, was detected near Crotz Street. Firefighters attended and successfully extinguished the fire.

* A large fire was detected between the shacks in the Cuba/Giyani area. The smoke eventually cleared while the area was monitored.

* A shack fire in Asla, Ockert Bothma, was reported to Fire Services, who were already aware of the incident. The fire was successfully extinguished.

* A house fire was detected in Sijaji Street, Elangeni. Firefighters attended and successfully extinguished the fire.

* A skip fire was detected at the Thembelihle open field. Firefighters responded and successfully extinguished the fire.

🚨 Crime Prevention & Suspicious Activity
CCTV monitoring identified several incidents involving suspected theft, robbery and suspicious behaviour:

* Three men were observed digging for cables near the Dana Bay entrance on Louis Fourie Road. SAPS, Traffic and the K9 Unit attended, but the suspects fled before officers arrived.

* Two men were observed emerging from bushes in Blue Waters, with one carrying what appeared to be a burglar door and a broom. The individuals proceeded towards JCC Camp and disappeared from view.

* Two men carrying a white door were observed in Blue Waters and monitored as they proceeded towards JCC Camp.

* A suspicious vehicle at Bill Jeff Pump Station was observed in connection with possible drug dealing. The vehicle left before SAPS arrived.

* A person carrying a television, possibly stolen property, was reported in Ockert Bothma. Two males fled and jumped a fence when SAPS arrived.

* Three individuals attempting to rob another person were observed in Ockert Bothma. The targeted person ran away and the suspects left towards Asla.

* Two individuals suspected of carrying stolen property were observed near Roselind and Jacaranda. SAPS attended and established that the individuals were selling blankets and mirrors.

* A person was observed carrying a pile of pallets and concealing them in a passage towards Tarka. SAPS attended, located the pallets and detained the individual, who was also found in possession of suspected mandrax.

* Three men carrying a roof plank were observed near Adriaans & Thembelihle. SAPS attended and found one individual with a trolley and drugs in his possession. He was taken to Mossel Bay SAPS.

* Three suspicious individuals were observed near Adriaans & Dywili. SAPS patrolled the area and approached the men near the local "slaghuis". Two fled, while one was arrested for possession of a sharp object.

⚖️ Illegal Activities & By-Law Enforcement

* A person digging soil next to the road at Andriaans & Dywili was reported to Law Enforcement. One written warning was issued and the individual was instructed to stop.

* Illegal sand mining was detected at Louis Fourie & Crotz Road. Law Enforcement attended, removed one individual and issued a written warning.

* An individual was observed attempting an illegal electrical connection in Mokaba Street. Law Enforcement attended, but no person was found actively carrying out the connection.

🔫 Weapon-Related Incident
Two suspicious individuals were observed in Dyosi, with one appearing to remove a handgun from his sock and place it behind his waist. SAPS attended and located the individual. The firearm was confirmed to be a replica/duplicate weapon. SAPS confiscated the replica and no arrest was made.

👥 Public Safety Incidents

* A man was observed being robbed in Dyosi. SAPS attended and found the victim unharmed. Due to the victim being intoxicated, he was unable to open a case.

* A person was observed carrying out a possible vehicle obstruction concern near Mikeva Circle. The vehicle was pushed out of the area and did not obstruct traffic.

* A motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle colliding with a cow was detected on the N2 between Dana Bay and Langeberg Mall. The necessary emergency departments attended the scene.

* A suspicious vehicle believed to be linked to possible housebreaking and drug dealing was monitored near 9th Avenue & Van Zyl. It was established that the registered owner was already under arrest and another person was driving the vehicle.

📲 COMMUNITY REPORTING — WHATSAPP COMPLAINTS (3)
Community members continued to play an important role in reporting incidents requiring municipal and emergency assistance.

* Medical assistance — Adolf Street
A report was received regarding a man lying at 47 Adolf Street requiring medical assistance. The complaint was escalated to the Call Centre and ambulance assistance was requested.

* Street fighting
A complaint regarding people fighting was escalated to SAPS. Officers attended, but no people were found fighting on arrival.

* Assistance with a person with dementia — Bayside Centre
SAPS and security personnel assisted a person requiring help. He was taken to the police station, where it was confirmed that he was a resident of Getswana Old Age Home.

☎️ TELEPHONE REPORT — 1

* Power outage — JCC, Walvis Street
The outage was escalated to Technical Services. The Electrical Department attended and power was successfully restored.

🚓 SAPS OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE — 3
The Joint Operations Centre provided CCTV playback, NAVIC support and live monitoring to assist SAPS with ongoing investigations and operational matters.

* Stabbing investigation — Blue Waters
CCTV playback was conducted in relation to an incident at approximately 07:42. Footage showed the individual running from the beach area, crossing Louis Fourie Road and proceeding towards the kloof in the direction of JCC Camp. SAPS and Ambulance Services attended, and the injured person was transported to hospital.

* Suspected drug-dealing vehicle — White bakkie
CCTV playback, NAVIC checks and live camera monitoring were conducted to locate a white bakkie reportedly involved in drug-related activity. During the search, SAPS confirmed that the vehicle had been located and one individual was arrested for possession of tik.

* Identification of possible suspects — Curlew & Plover Street
CCTV playback was conducted after information was received that possible suspects had discarded a wanted key into a nearby yard upon seeing police. Footage showed a woman throwing an item into a yard. SAPS was informed, and both individuals were subsequently located and detained at Da Gamaskop Police Station.

📻 RADIO-REPORTED INCIDENTS — 2

* Assistance requested for woman from Albertinia — Sky Lounge, Heiderand
Law Enforcement and SAPS were notified regarding a woman reportedly roaming around the area. Officers attended and located the woman, who subsequently left with a friend. Situation resolved.

* Medical assistance — Point Hotel area
An ambulance was requested for a 58-year-old woman who had reportedly broken her leg. The matter was escalated to the Fire Department and ambulance assistance was arranged.

🎞️ CCTV FOOTAGE REVIEW & INVESTIGATIVE SUPPORT — 1

* Da Gamaskop SAPS — Blue Waters / Louis Fourie Road
Footage was requested in connection with a robbery involving a weapon other than a firearm, reported on 22 August 2026 at approximately 07:42. CCTV playback was conducted, the relevant footage was downloaded and handed over to SAPS for further investigation.

𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐲 𝐉𝐎𝐂 | 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞

Through continuous CCTV surveillance, community reporting via WhatsApp and telephone calls, and coordinated responses with emergency services and law enforcement, the Mossel Bay Joint Operations Centre managed 22 incidents during the past week.

📡 CCTV SURVEILLANCE & INCIDENT RESPONSE (14)
Continuous CCTV monitoring enabled the Joint Operations Centre to identify and escalate a range of criminal, safety, fire, and by-law related incidents across the Mossel Bay area.

* Fire & smoke-related incidents
Multiple fires were detected through CCTV monitoring, including skip fires in Ndibaniso Street, Langeni and Barcelona, an open fire at Asla near the N2, and fires in Kwa Nonqaba and behind Montagu & Powrie. All reported fires were successfully extinguished or dealt with by the relevant services.

* Robbery & criminal activity
CCTV identified several incidents involving suspected criminal activity. A person was observed being robbed by four men near Louis Fourie & Essenhout, with SAPS responding to the scene. The victim was located but declined to open a case.

Two individuals were also observed carrying a broken fridge and causing an obstruction in Alhof & Roselind. Law Enforcement attended and issued a warning.

* Copper cable theft & electrical infrastructure
Three individuals were observed digging near light poles in Ockert Bothma, suspected of attempting to steal cables. SAPS responded and apprehended one suspect, while two others fled. Evidence of copper cable theft was discovered and municipal electricians were requested to secure the exposed infrastructure.

Two further individuals were observed near an electricity box at Bill Jeff & Grunter Street. SAPS and Law Enforcement attended, and tools including pliers and hammers were recovered and booked into the SAPS 13 exhibit register.

* Suspicious persons & hotspot monitoring
Three suspicious men were observed in the Roselind Street and Dahlia Avenue area. SAPS apprehended two suspects while a third fled. Evidence relating to a suspected attempted housebreaking, including a wooden plank and panga, was recovered and booked into the SAPS 13 register.

Three individuals were also monitored near Bill Jeff & Grunter Street. Two fled when SAPS approached, while one individual was arrested.

Two men wearing balaclavas were observed at the Dana Bay entrance and were handed over to SAPS. They were later seen moving through the bushes towards the N2.

* Robbery involving dangerous weapons
Two men were observed robbing a male person near the Ockert Bothma substation while reportedly carrying dangerous weapons. SAPS was informed and the incident was monitored. The suspects took a coin from the victim before disappearing into the Asla informal settlement.

* Illegal structures & by-law enforcement
An individual building a structure in Sijaji informal settlement was reported to Law Enforcement. The individual explained that he was constructing a floor to avoid walking through mud due to the area's wet conditions. He was instructed to stop and complied.

An open fire in Kwa Nonqaba was also attended to by Law Enforcement. The individual responsible extinguished the fire and was issued a Section 56 notice.

* SAPS activity & suspected stolen property
CCTV observed a SAPS vehicle in the Church & Cape Road area where an individual was taken into custody, possibly in connection with stolen property.

📲 WHATSAPP COMMUNITY COMPLAINTS (4)
Community members continued to play an important role in reporting incidents requiring emergency and law enforcement intervention.

* Motor vehicle accident / suspected drunk driving – Kwanonqaba
A vehicle was reported to have driven into a wall in Mawawa Street. The matter was escalated to Law Enforcement, Da Gamaskop and Mossel Bay SAPS.

* Medical emergency – Bokwe Street, Kwanonqaba
An ambulance was requested for a person who had fallen ill. Emergency medical services were contacted and confirmed that an ambulance was already on its way.

* Person injured in public – GYS Small Burger area
A bleeding person was reported sleeping in public near Bay Appliance. An ambulance was contacted and the person was transported to hospital.

* Shack fire – Zone 7, Boyana Street
The fire was immediately handed over to the Fire Department and successfully extinguished.

☎️ TELEPHONE COMPLAINT (1)

* House and shack fire – Sonskyn Mandela Street
The incident was immediately escalated to the Fire Department, who confirmed that they were already aware of the fire.

🚓 SAPS ASSISTANCE & INVESTIGATIVE SUPPORT (2)

* Assault & trespassing investigation – Park Primary School
At the request of SAPS, the JOC assisted in locating a blue vehicle involved in an alleged assault on a groundskeeper. NAVIC tracking and CCTV playback were used to trace the vehicle. A blue Nissan Almera was identified travelling past the school multiple times. SAPS subsequently located the vehicle and driver, resulting in an arrest for assault and trespassing.

* Fire location assistance – Stofile Street, Kwa Nonqaba
CCTV cameras were checked to locate a reported fire. A shack fire was identified and immediately relayed to the Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched and made aware of the incident.

🔥 FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSISTANCE (1)

* Shack fire – New Rest
CCTV monitoring was used to locate the fire and provide the exact area to responding services. SAPS and Municipal Traffic assisted the Fire Department in accessing the scene and extinguishing the fire.

🎥 FOOTAGE REVIEW & INVESTIGATIVE SUPPORT (1)

* Mossel Bay Detectives – Kanarie Street
CCTV footage was reviewed and downloaded in connection with an alleged assault and BGV incident that occurred in an open field in Kanarie Street on 19/07/2026 between 11:32 and 12:00. The relevant footage will be handed over to the investigating officer.

The Mossel Bay Joint Operations Centre welcomed 8 interns from Crosslink Academy to the JOC 👋

The interns will be gaining valuable practical experience while working in the CCTV control room, contributing to the important work of monitoring and supporting safety in our community.

Through continuous CCTV surveillance, community reporting via WhatsApp and telephone calls, and coordinated responses with emergency services, SAPS and Law Enforcement, the Mossel Bay Joint Operations Centre managed 31 incidents and operational requests during the past week.

📹 CCTV MONITORING & INCIDENT RESPONSE (12)

Continuous CCTV monitoring enabled the early detection of fires, suspicious activity, public safety concerns, traffic incidents and possible criminal activity across Mossel Bay.

🔥 Fire & Smoke-Related Incidents

* Open fire – Thembelihle Avenue, Marikana open space
The incident was handed over to Law Enforcement. Officers attended and found a mentally disturbed male person at the location. He was instructed to leave the area and complied.

* Open fire – Alhof Drive
The incident was handed over to Law Enforcement. While monitoring the situation, the fire was extinguished and the person left the area.

* Shack fires – Elangeni, Kwanonqaba
Multiple shacks were observed on fire and the incident was immediately escalated to the Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

* Shack fire – Beehive Parking
The Fire Department was already aware of the incident. Firefighters attended and successfully extinguished the fire.

* Shack fire – Ekuphumleni, Kwanonqaba
The incident was escalated to the Fire Department and Law Enforcement. The fire was successfully extinguished.

🚨 Suspicious Activity & Crime Prevention

* Illegal electrical connections – Mokama Street
Law Enforcement was notified of suspected illegal electrical connections. Officers attended, but no individuals were found at the location.

* Illegal electrical connections – Sange Street, behind Asla Park
The complaint was handed over to Law Enforcement. Officers attended but found no individuals on arrival.

* Suspicious individual carrying a white door/gate – Marsh & Cape
The individual was reported to SAPS. The area was patrolled, but the person could not be located.

* Suspicious individual carrying unidentified items – MJ Harris
The individual was handed over to SAPS. Law Enforcement confirmed that a water meter had been stolen from a property. SAPS attended to take a statement, but no one was available on the premises. Members remain on the lookout for the suspect.

🚗 Traffic & Road Safety

* Pedestrian struck by vehicle – Mikeva Circle
CCTV observed a white Toyota Fortuner making contact with a person crossing the street. The driver stopped and spoke to the pedestrian. The pedestrian subsequently entered the vehicle and they left in the direction of Mossel Street.

* Motor vehicle accident – Marlin & Bonito
The incident was immediately escalated to Law Enforcement and SAPS. The necessary departments attended the scene.

* Motorbike accident – Melkhout Street
The incident was reported to SAPS and Traffic. While monitoring the situation, the two individuals appeared to have resolved the matter and left the area.

📲 WHATSAPP COMMUNITY COMPLAINTS (6)

Community reporting remained an important part of the Joint Operations Centre's response network, allowing incidents to be escalated quickly to the appropriate services.

* Medical assistance – Bayside Checkers, CBD public toilets
An ambulance was requested for a 65-year-old man suffering from ulcers. The matter was escalated to the relevant department, and the complainant confirmed that the person was transported by ambulance.

* Pedestrian knockdown / hit-and-run – Petro SA
The complaint was escalated to Law Enforcement and attended to by Kwanonqaba SAPS.

* Assault by members of the community – Van Suil
The incident was escalated and Da Gamaskop SAPS and Ambulance Services were contacted.

* Mob fight following alleged theft – Albert Luthuli
SAPS responded to the incident and removed the person involved from the scene.

* Suspicious person attempting to climb a fence – Bland Street, Traffic Department
The individual was handed over to SAPS and Law Enforcement. The person was searched and found in possession of a bag containing a pair of scissors. He was transported by SAPS to the cells.

* Medical assistance – 39 Cedile Street
Ambulance services were contacted and it was confirmed that the person was transported to hospital.

🚓 SAPS SUPPORT & OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE (4)

The Joint Operations Centre continued providing CCTV and NAVIC support to SAPS investigations and operational requirements.

* Unlicensed vehicle / suspected driving under the influence – 4th Avenue & Louis Fourie Road
The matter was handed over to Law Enforcement. The driver and vehicle were located. A Section 56 notice was issued for the unlicensed driver and vehicle. The driver was found to be sober.

* NAVIC flagged vehicle – Grey Audi
The vehicle was flagged in connection with a cable theft investigation in the Melkhout Street area. The investigation officer confirmed that the case was closed on 27 July 2026. The vehicle will subsequently be removed from the NAVIC system.

* NAVIC flagged vehicle – Blue Kia Rio
The vehicle was flagged in connection with the alleged use of a motor vehicle without the owner's consent. The investigation officer confirmed that the case has been closed.

* Stolen motor vehicle investigation – White Isuzu Bakkie
Kwanonqaba Detectives requested playback assistance regarding a vehicle theft reported on 8 August 2026. Playback and NAVIC checks were conducted. The vehicle was last located in the Mossel Bay Central area on Louis Fourie Road. The investigation remains ongoing.

🎥 FOOTAGE REVIEWS & INVESTIGATIVE SUPPORT (2)

CCTV footage continued to provide valuable investigative support to law enforcement and assist with the review of reported criminal incidents.

* Attempted business break-in – Church Street, White Shark African
Playback was conducted for the period between 18:00 and 06:00 regarding an incident reported on 5 August 2026. Relevant footage was successfully located and is available.

* Stolen stainless-steel furniture – 14 Jacaranda Street
Playback was conducted regarding the theft of stainless-steel chairs, tables and cushions on 29 July 2026. Relevant footage was successfully located and is available.

👮 LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE (1)

* Stolen diving wetsuit – Delfinos parking benches
Playback was conducted following a report of a stolen scuba wetsuit on 8 August 2026. CCTV footage showed a suspect taking the wetsuit from the benches and leaving the area in the direction of Big Blue.

𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐲 𝐉𝐎𝐂 | 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞

Through continuous CCTV surveillance, community reporting via WhatsApp and telephone calls, and close coordination with SAPS, Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue Services, Emergency Medical Services and other role players, the Mossel Bay Joint Operations Centre managed 26 incidents during the past week.

📡 SURVEILLANCE & CCTV-REPORTED INCIDENTS (19)

The Joint Operations Centre maintained continuous monitoring across the municipal CCTV network, enabling the rapid detection and escalation of crime, public safety, traffic, fire, and by-law related incidents.

🔥 Fire & Smoke-Related Incidents (6)

* Open fires were detected behind Burger & Seun Scrap Yard, behind Asla near the N2, next to the Ockert Bothma Substation, and other locations. Most incidents were monitored until extinguished or handed over to the Fire Department and Law Enforcement for immediate response.

* A vehicle fire at the Essenhout traffic lights was rapidly identified. Provincial Traffic and Fire Services responded, and the occupants safely exited the vehicle before firefighters extinguished the blaze.

* A shack fire in Zone 1, Kwanonqaba, was reported through CCTV monitoring and successfully extinguished by the Fire Department.

* Heavy smoke from a vehicle at the corner of Da Gama and Alhof Streets was monitored until Fire Services extinguished the fire.

🚓 Crime Prevention & Law Enforcement (10)

* A suspicious individual carrying a possible stolen fence in James Street was monitored. The area will continue to receive additional surveillance during high-risk periods.

* Three individuals were observed making illegal electrical connections in Dyosi Street. SAPS and Law Enforcement responded and disconnected the illegal connections.

* Two individuals making a public fire in Alhof & Carnation Street were searched by SAPS and found in possession of Mandrax. Both suspects were arrested.

* Five individuals carrying roof trusses and rafters in James Street fled the scene when SAPS arrived.

* A suspicious individual carrying two tyres in Melkhout Street was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

* A possible break-in reported in Sange Street was investigated by SAPS and found not to be a burglary.

* Two suspects attempting to steal cables from streetlight poles near Louis Fourie Road fled into nearby bushes when officers arrived. Law Enforcement confiscated the tools used during the attempted theft.

* An illegal electricity connection in Sange Street, Asla Park, was attended to by Law Enforcement and the Electrical Department.

* A public fight near the Point Hotel (Caves) resulted in one arrest for riotous behaviour.

* A suspicious individual near Flora Road was safely assisted after reporting concerns for his safety. SAPS and the Dana Bay Neighbourhood Watch attended the matter.

🚗 Traffic & Public Safety Incidents (3)

* A motor vehicle collision at Mayixhale Street was detected via CCTV after a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. No injuries were reported.

* A Code 1 emergency involving a pedestrian and taxi at Bill Jeff & Albert Luthuli Streets was immediately escalated to emergency services. The injured person was transported to hospital.

* A fight involving several individuals in Bonito Street, Extension 13, was dispersed upon SAPS' arrival without further escalation.

📲 WHATSAPP COMPLAINTS (3)

Community members continued to play an important role by reporting incidents requiring immediate attention.

* Two individuals allegedly using drugs in public in Meyer Street were reported. Law Enforcement and security services responded, but the suspects had already left the area.

* An ambulance was requested for a stabbing victim near Eyethu Clinic. Emergency Medical Services responded immediately.

* A malicious damage to property complaint at Mile Crunchers Backpackers resulted in SAPS detaining the suspect.

☎️ TELEPHONE COMPLAINTS (1)

* Emergency medical assistance was requested at Builders. Ambulance services responded, and the patient received the necessary medical treatment.

🚓 SAPS ASSISTANCE & INVESTIGATIVE SUPPORT (2)

* CCTV and NAVIC systems assisted SAPS in tracing a missing 49-year-old male travelling on a silver Suzuki motorcycle. The individual was later found safe and the BOLO was cancelled.

* Following a business robbery at Mozambik Bar & Restaurant, CCTV and NAVIC technology assisted SAPS in locating the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was traced to Elegant Fuel Station, where two suspects were arrested.

🚒 FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSISTANCE (2)

* CCTV cameras confirmed a shack fire in the New Rest area, allowing Fire Services to respond promptly.

* The Joint Operations Centre also assisted Fire Services in locating and confirming a fire at the Louis Fourie Transfer Station, which was successfully extinguished.

Through continuous CCTV surveillance, community reporting via WhatsApp, radio and other communication channels, together with coordinated responses from emergency services and law enforcement, the Mossel Bay Joint Operations Centre managed 18 incidents during the past week.

📡 SURVEILLANCE & CCTV-REPORTED INCIDENTS - 10

Real-time CCTV monitoring enabled the rapid detection and escalation of crime, public safety, traffic, fire and by-law related incidents across the municipal area.

* Fire & smoke-related incidents
Open fires and smoke were detected in the Sijaji area, Elangeni and surrounding Kwanonqaba areas. These incidents were immediately escalated to the Fire Department, with all fires successfully extinguished and no further risk reported.

* Crime prevention & suspicious activity
– Two suspects attempting to steal zinc sheets in Ockert Bothma fled when confronted by a neighbour. SAPS recovered the stolen property and returned it to the owner.
– A suspect dragging a cable and carrying a saw, believed to be involved in cable theft near Alhof and Roselind Street, fled into nearby bushes after noticing Law Enforcement. The cable and saw were recovered and handed to SAPS as evidence.
– A suspicious individual roaming near Montagu, Kloof, High and Mitchell Streets was stopped and searched by SAPS, with nothing incriminating found.

* Public safety & law enforcement
– An individual standing on top of a moving vehicle while being chased near the Louis Fourie Road/Dana Bay intersection resulted in SAPS intervention. One arrest for assault was made after the victim was found injured.
– Drinking in public at the CBD Taxi Rank was monitored, and the individuals left the area before further intervention was required.
– An old structure being renovated at JCC Camp informal settlement was investigated by Law Enforcement and confirmed not to be a new illegal structure.
– A vehicle illegally parked at the corner of Marsh and Beach Streets was monitored until Law Enforcement issued a parking infringement notice.

* Traffic incident
A minor collision involving a bakkie and a motorcycle on Ockert Bothma Road was monitored. The motorcycle was removed from the roadway and no injuries were reported.

📲 WHATSAPP COMPLAINTS - 5

Community reporting continued to play an important role in ensuring a rapid response to public safety incidents.

* Person with a knife (Taxi Rank)
A complaint regarding an individual refusing to leave the area while carrying a knife was handed over to SAPS and Law Enforcement. The suspect had left before officers arrived.

* Suspected drunk driver (Marsh & Beach Street)
Law Enforcement responded after reports of an intoxicated motorcyclist. The individual abandoned the motorcycle and left the area on foot.

* Person causing a disturbance (Church & Mitchell Street)
A male lying on the ground shouting was attended to and removed from the area by CID Security.

* Public disturbance (Next to Mr Cheap, Marsh Street)
SAPS attended after reports of a person arguing with members of the public. The individual was removed from the area.

* Fire reported (Red Brick Road)
The Fire Department responded promptly and successfully extinguished the fire.

* Playback request from Mossel Bay Detectives
Playback was conducted regarding a theft that occurred in Bruns & Rodger Street. Relevant footage was successfully downloaded, copied to USB and handed over to the investigating officer.

🚓 SAPS ASSISTANCE - 1

* Accident location assistance
The Joint Operations Centre assisted SAPS by locating a motor vehicle accident near the Louis Fourie Transfer Station using CCTV cameras. The incident was immediately relayed to Law Enforcement for response.

📻 RADIO COMPLAINTS - 1

* Tourist assaulted (Point Area)
A radio complaint regarding a homeless person allegedly assaulting a tourist was immediately handed over to SAPS. Officers attended the scene and an arrest was made.
