Day 1 Highlights💫 | 5th International Summer School 2026

The 5th International Summer School officially commenced on 12 October 2026 at Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST), Tanzania, with the opening session facilitated by Mrs Patricia Muraguri (Frame 5).

Participants were welcomed by the MUST Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aloys Ntanturo Mvuma (Frame 2), Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Planning, Finance and Administration, Prof. Zacharia Katambara (Frame 3), and Programmes Officer from WaterNet, Ms. Ferzhaan Moses (Frame 4).

Following the opening session, participants toured the university's academic facilities, including the Chemistry Laboratory and the Milk Plant Laboratory under the Department of Food Science and Technology, gaining first-hand exposure to research, innovation, and dairy processing technologies.

A great start to two weeks of learning, collaboration, and networking! 🌍🎓

🎉 Training Successfully Concluded!

From 7-10 September 2026, the Water Resources Planning and Modelling Virtual Short Training Course brought together water resource professionals from across Southern Africa to strengthen knowledge and skills in innovative water resources management. 85+ participants, 4 days, countless insights, and a shared commitment to better water resources management.

A special thank you to our facilitators, Prof. Jean-Marie Kileshye Onema (Waternet) and Dr. Loreen Katiyo (Global Water Partnership Southern Africa), as well as guest speaker Dr. Misheck Lesa Chundu (The University of Zambia -UNZA), for sharing valuable knowledge and practical insights that will help strengthen water security and sustainable development across the region.

The CUVKUN Training Programme is currently underway, bringing together researchers, engineers, students, and water professionals to strengthen skills in water resources planning, hydrological analysis, and modelling for sustainable water management.
