Our team in hosted a Menstrual Health & Hygiene at Moses Garoeb Primary School in Windhoek. Led by Country Project Coordinators Lydia and Fisabo, we created a safe, judgment-free space to talk menstrual biology, confront period stigma, and distribute reusable pad kits.
Here is what went down in our "sisterly circle":
•We broke down the biological reality of periods, reminding the girls that menstruation is a beautiful sign of a healthy body - Pure Science - Nature, No Shame.
•We addressed the tragic realities of period shaming and emphasized why solidarity among young menstruating persons - and engaging young men as allies, is crucial - Break the silence.
•We distributed menstrual hygiene kits packed with and soap, demonstrating exactly how to manage and care for them safely.
We firmly believe sanitary products should be 100% free. We must end .
This pad drive is a proud milestone under our African Women's Development Fund-funded project: Strengthening a Pan-African Young Female-Led Feminist Leadership Ecosystem in Southern Africa.
