NBC Engages with LED Forum on Economic Development Priorities
The Nkangala Business Chamber (NBC), represented by its CEO and Board Members, participated in a Local Economic Development (LED) Forum meeting chaired by Themba Nkosi. The engagement brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from Seriti, the LED Office, and NBC, to discuss collaborative strategies aimed at driving sustainable economic growth within the region.
The discussions focused on identifying practical and impactful projects that can strengthen local economic development. Key areas highlighted included waste management initiatives, environmental sustainability through tree-planting programmes, SMME development, investment attraction, tourism growth, and opportunities within the green economy.
Participants also emphasized the importance of understanding and aligning with the LED Strategy and mandate, while encouraging broader stakeholder participation from sectors such as agriculture, tourism, transportation, banking, and mining. The need for open dialogue, collaboration, and the establishment of cooperative structures to support development initiatives was strongly underscored.
NBC remains committed to working alongside government, industry, and community stakeholders to create an enabling environment for business growth, job creation, and sustainable economic development across the Nkangala region.
