GE Vernova has been alerted to fraudulent posters circulating in the Phola area near Kusile Power Station, falsely claiming that we are hiring "Safety Officers."

Please be advised:
🚫 This is NOT a GE Vernova recruitment drive. We have not authorized this activity and have no association with it.

How to protect yourself:
• Do not pay: GE Vernova never requests payment or "registration fees" to apply for a job. Any request for money is a major red flag for a scam.
• Verify sources: Only trust job listings posted on our official website.
• Report it: If you have been targeted by this scam, please report it to your local South African Police Service (SAPS) station immediately and/or contact GE Vernova Security: Nico Beukes +27 69 745 6168

[Post Event] The annual SoGutjhe Heritage Day celebration, hosted at the Mabande Sports Ground on September 24, 2026, powerfully embodied this dual mandate. While the grounds resonated with the vibrant rhythms of traditional music and cultural pride, the gathering also served as a crucial platform for confronting one of the nation's most harrowing contemporary crises: the scourge of violence and killings directed at women.

Amidst the festivities, the atmosphere shifted to a somber and resolute tone when Ndabezitha Sipho Sombali Mahlangu took the podium to address the gathering. Moving beyond conventional celebratory rhetoric, Ndabezitha addressed the deeply unsettling reality of women being killed an issue that has cast a heavy shadow over the nation's pursuit of true freedom.

Ndabezitha called for immediate accountability and a radical shift in societal behavior. The address underscored that cultural heritage cannot be authentically honored while women continue to face systemic violence and the constant threat of harm. By bringing the crisis of gender-based violence to the forefront of a major heritage platform, the address reinforced the growing consensus that traditional leaders, communities, and the state must actively dismantle the harmful structures and behaviors passed down through generations, ensuring that the legacy left to future generations is one of safety, dignity, and equality.

The legendary Dr. Nothembi Mkhwebane enthralled the audience with her signature songs , showcasing the enduring power of storytelling through music. Performances by Amavilo Westimela, the dynamic Kameelrivier Boys, and the energetic Mlabalaba Entertainment further kept the crowd riveted.These performances did more than entertain; they served the vital cultural function of preserving indigenous art forms and teaching younger generations the sacred songs and oral histories of their forebears.
