Driving on the road today I had ZERO intentions of rescuing a dog but here we are... Welcome to Rescue Thor. Thor was running in the road. Hes VERY thin and VERY hungry. Hes full of fleas. And we suspect he has some mange on his legs that are also infected and likely worms.

Hes already received a nexgaurd spectra and tomorrow will have skin scrapes done and all the necessary. We are in no position to take on more but there was absolutely no way I was leaving him on the road so here we are...

These gorgeous girls are all still in foster care! Foster care is a pit stop on the way to a forever home. Its not permanent. If they dont go home we cannot foster more... We have to say no. All 3 girls have beautiful personalities. Gia has waited a year to be chosen... Imagine watching everyone being chosen and it never being her... Nella is just a beautiful soft girl with so much love to give.. shes around 5 months. And Marshmellow is just a squishy beautiful girl around 3 months. She's the last of her litter. All of these girls deserve their forever humans... They cannot be adopted together. Littermate syndrome. They also need an age gap of a min year between them and any dogs in a potential new home. Same reason.

I feel like this post is necessary so people understand... We focus on rehab in the kennels. We do not focus on unwanted pets. We survive ONLY on donations. We take care of kennel fees/vet bills/treats and toys/food with those donations. We are not hugely funded. We have a couple of amazing donors that show up monthly which we always appreciate so much. As both active partners in the rescue work full time we do not have a lot of spare time to plan events etc. We do not draw a salary from this we always need help. We have merch we sell and hampers. Please understand that all of the dogs we kennel are amazing and we commit to them 100% until adopted. There is absolutely nothing about them that makes them unadoptable. Some require specific homes but that just makes them special. We spend a long time getting to know our dogs so their placements will be suitable. BUT our current dogs have not received any applications... why?

1. Hennessey with us since 17th June 2026 1 application from someone who previously wanted to rehome theor dog for barking! Obviously fail. (ONLY dog home or maybe a social female his size no small animals)

2. Snickers with us since 21st June 2025 (social)

3. Poppi with us since 11 October 2025 (ONLY dog home) Zero applications

4. Amani with us since 8 January 2026 (selective about who she likes introductions necessary) Zero applications

5. Dallas with us since 8 May 2026 zero applications. (ONLY dogs home)

6. Gia with us since a pup. Around a year now. Zero applications. (Social)

How do we agree to home an unwanted pet that's been committed to by an owner over a dog that has waited this long and not been applied for or adopted. How would that be fair to them to prioritize a pet someone is no longer committed to over them? I get that situations change etc. And where possible we will asssit. BUT will never prioritize your pet over them. Do you know how heart breaking it is for them waiting... hoping... They deserve their happily ever after too. They too are urgent!

Who remembers Fawn!!!!

Fawn had a long rehab at Montclair Pet Hospital who were AMAZING! Daily updates/beautiful pics/medicated baths/so much love. Look how shes healed and now... ADOPTED!!! Thank you to our special adopter who has adopted all 3 of her current furs from us. Harley and Chase now have a new sister. Thank you tp her incredible foster mom Tash for always taking our special cases that need a little more 💜

🐾 Meet Apollo 🤎 (written by his family)

Apollo, or Polo/Poli as we call him, is a 2-year-old Pitbull who is looking for a loving home.

He’s a really sweet, affectionate boy who loves being around people and getting attention. He’s generally gentle and sociable, and has a lot of love to give. He’s healthy, neutered and fully up to date with his vaccinations.

A few things that make Apollo, well… Apollo:
🐾 He loves people and being fussed over
🐾 He’s happiest when he has company
🐾 He has the most beautiful green eyes that are hard to resist 💚
🐾 He’s a big softie with a lot of personality
🐾 And perhaps most importantly… he absolutely loves curry 😂🌶️ (although his new family should stick to dog-safe treats!)

Apollo belonged to my late dad, who passed away in June. He was very loved by my dad, and we’re now trying to find Apollo a home where he can have that same sense of being loved and part of a family.

He’s currently in Shallcross, Durban.

We’re hoping to find someone who will take the time to get to know him, give him plenty of love and attention, and make him part of their family. ❤️

Sadly with nobody in the home hes not able to be loved the way he deserves. Please consider this boy.

We are literally begging our supporters to support our lucky draw! We have R359 in our account. In 8 years of running this organization i have never been in this situation.

We have to settle these bills! Amani needed to see the vet to have her ears looked at/a hot spot treated and her nails trimmed. We have kennel fees that need to be paid the bill this month is R7000. We have managed to settle R2200 so far. We have to pay a bill for Nella to have vaccinations/chip/neguard spectra. We cannot do this without help. We have asked and asked. We are now begging. Because if we cannot pay our bills we cannot run this organization. The calls are constant. Without adoptions we cannot help. Our dogs in kennels cost us R1550 per month. From next month its more. This is excluding food/treats/toys/vet care. Some have been kenneled for over a year. Most not received even one application. This isnt easy its harder without help.
