*URGENT CALL TO PRAYER โ 72 HOURS OF INTERCESSION FOR SOUTH AFRICA*
*Starting tonight at 9:00 p.m.*
Dear intercessors, prayer leaders, churches, families and believers across South Africa and beyond,
We are calling for an urgent 72-hour season of prayer, with immediate effect, concerning the killings that have been taking place, particularly the violence against women and girls.
This is not a prayer chain. There is no schedule and no assigned hour. As and when you feel led by the Holy Spirit, post a prayer, type a prayer, share a Scripture, or lead us in intercession.
There has been agreement among intercessors and intercessory leaders to intensify prayer at this time. However, this is interdenominational. Every church, ministry, denomination, prayer group and individual believer is welcome to stand together in prayer.
Let us stand in the gap. Let us agree in prayer. Let us cry out to God for justice, protection, wisdom and intervention.
*OUR SEVEN PRAYER POINTS*
*1. PRAY FOR THE PERPETRATOR TO BE FOUND*
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we ask that the person or persons responsible for these killings be exposed and found without delay. We pray that every piece of evidence will come to light and that nothing hidden will remain concealed. Let truth prevail and let justice be served.
*Matthew 18:18โ20*
concerning agreement in prayer and the authority of what is bound and loosed, and Christโs promise to be present where two or three gather in His name.
*2 PRAY FOR THE PROTECTION OF WOMEN AND GIRLS*
Father, stretch out Your hand over every woman and girl in South Africa. Protect them when they are at home, at work, at school, travelling and in every place they go. Surround them with Your presence and deliver them from violence, abuse, danger and those who intend harm.
*Psalm 91:1โ4*
โHe who dwells in the secret place of the Most Highโฆโ and the promise of Godโs covering and protection.
*3 PRAY FOR THE PROTECTION OF EVERYONE IN SOUTH AFRICA*
We pray for men, women, children, families, communities and every person living in South Africa. Lord, let Your protection cover this nation. Let violence be restrained and let peace prevail in our streets and communities.
*Isaiah 59:19*
โWhen the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.โ
*4 PRAY FOR THE FAMILIES OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN MURDERED*
Father, comfort every family that has lost a loved one through these terrible acts. Bring peace where there is grief, strength where there is weakness and comfort where there are unanswered questions. Give families the closure they need, and let justice bring accountability. May they experience Your presence in the midst of their pain.
*Psalm 34:18*
โThe LORD is near to those who have a broken heart.โ
*5 PRAY FOR THE POLICE, INVESTIGATORS AND EVERYONE WORKING ON THESE CASES*
Father, give divine wisdom, discernment, courage and enablement to every police officer, investigator, forensic specialist, prosecutor and person assigned to these cases.
Where there are backlogs and shortages of resources, we pray that resources will be released and directed where they are urgently needed. We pray for capacity, equipment, personnel, forensic resources and every practical provision necessary for justice to be done.
Raise up righteous men and women within the police serviceโpeople of integrity, courage and wisdom. Raise up Christian officers wherever You have placed them, and use them mightily to bring truth to light and help bring this perpetrator to justice.
*James 1:5 (NKJV) โ โIf any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Godโฆโ
*6 PRAY FOR THE COMING ELECTIONS AND FOR SOUTH AFRICA*
Father, as South Africa approaches another season of elections, we pray for peace, wisdom, integrity and protection. Protect voters, candidates, election workers and communities. Expose corruption and prevent violence and intimidation. Give the nation leaders who will pursue justice, righteousness and the wellbeing of its people.
*1 Timothy 2:1โ2*
calling believers to pray for those in authority so that we may live peaceful and godly lives.
*7 PRAY FOR THE NATION TO STAND AGAINST EVIL*
Father, we stand together as the Body of Christ. Your Word declares concerning Your people, โDo not touch My anointed onesโ (Psalm 105:15, NKJV). We declare that violence and evil will not have the final word over South Africa.
Let the Church arise in prayer. Let intercessors stand in the gap. Let churches across denominations uniteโnot in competition, but in agreement before God.
We pray that every scheme of the enemy against innocent lives will be exposed and brought to nothing. Let righteousness prevail. Let justice prevail. Let protection prevail.
Scripture: Psalm 105:14โ15 (NKJV) โ concerning Godโs protection of His people and the command, โDo not touch My anointed ones.โ
*LET US AGREE IN PRAYER*
โIf two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.โ โ Matthew 18:19 (NKJV)
We are asking every intercessor: PLEASE STAND IN THE GAP.
From 9:00 p.m. tonight, let prayer begin.
You donโt have to wait for someone else.
You donโt need an assigned time.
You donโt need permission.
As the Holy Spirit leads you, pray. Post a prayer. Share a Scripture. Encourage another intercessor.
Let us fill these 72 hours with prayer.
Let us intensify the cry.
Let us agree together.
Let us pray for justice.
Let us pray for protection.
Let us pray for the families.
Let us pray for the police and investigators.
Let us pray for our children, women and men.
Let us pray for South Africa.
And above all, let us place our confidence in God.
*SHORT PRAYER OF AGREEMENT*
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before You as Your people, united in prayer and agreement. Hear our cry, Lord. Protect our children, protect our women, protect our men, protect our families and protect everyone in South Africa.
We ask for justice for those who have been murdered and comfort for every grieving family. Give wisdom, resources and divine enablement to the police and investigators. Bring hidden things into the light and cause the perpetrator responsible for these killings to be found and brought to justice.
As we enter a season of elections, preserve peace in our nation and guide those who lead us. Let Your people arise in unity, righteousness and prayer. When the enemy comes like a flood, raise up Your standard. Let Your protection cover this nation.
Father, hear the prayers of Your people. Let our agreement before You produce righteous results. We stand in the gap for South Africa, believing that You are able to intervene.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
PLEASE SHARE. PLEASE PRAY. PLEASE STAND IN THE GAP.
