On 9/26 we honored two of our founding members with Circle of Honor plaques. Ms. Emma Royal was unable to attend and accept his award but Al Phillips was there and was totally surprised as you can see. The award was presented by our president, MiLisa York. We also celebrated MiLisa’s 64th birthday as well with some delicious German chocolate cake!

Our speaker today was Miss Claudia Fisher of AARP in Zachary. She enlightened us on all of the benefits offered by AARP. I encourage you to become a member and reap the benefits.

Today, we join people around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton at the age of 80.

For Kiwanians, her legacy of service holds special meaning. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she helped place millions of books—and countless possibilities—into the hands of children.

While we mourn her passing, her legacy will live on—one child, one book, and one dream at a time.

Thank you, Dolly, for helping generations of children dream bigger. 💙📚
