I believe this is the 20th hatch from my 2 tubes in 8 years. It was tough to watch because at least 2 big bass were eating ducklings as soon as they hit the water. Lost 5 I think. I ll post videos later. The 6 that made it have survived their first day. Never get tired of watching this.🦆

South tube has begun to hatch. Hard to see but there are several ducklings already out. Wasn’t finished when I had to leave for work.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all that attended last night’s banquet! It was a new chapter record for $ earned. Thank you to all of our donors as well as the committee members whose hard work pushed us to the new mark! The youth egg draw from the Hen House for their prizes was a huge success and lots of fun. Thanks to our auctioneer Don Braham who always makes it lively. Thanks to our FFL crew, Expert Outfitters for their help with the”unmentionables”. A Special Thank you to Jim Galvin(Polar Guard Sog Blinds) whose multiple generous donations helped push us over the top!

Down to the wire,have until tomorrow afternoon to get tickets. This year might be the largest prize package we ve ever assembled. Decoys,waterfowl and turkey gear, dog gear plus Ladies items. We will still be picking up random items all next week. Come support the Hen House project which might be expanding into Ashtabula Co. this year. We are also discussing the start up of a youth program. Hope to see you next Saturday Feb 21st.🦆

Delta Waterfowl’s Hen House contractors are fanning out across prime wetland habitat to prep for next duck season, installing 2,200 Hen Houses across key breeding areas in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, and Alberta. These nest structures provide essential shelter for mallards, with nest success up to 12 times higher than hens nesting in nearby ground cover.

By this spring, more than 16,500 Hen Houses will be on the landscape, projected to add over 38,000 fledged mallards to the 2026 fall flight. Guided by sound science, Delta’s Hen House Program continues its mission of producing more ducks and strengthening waterfowl populations across all four flyways.
