FLOOD RECOVERY RESOURCES FOR YORKTOWN RESIDENTS
As our community moves from emergency response into recovery, here are some important resources relevant to residents impacted by the flooding:
REPORT PROPERTY DAMAGE
!!VERY IMPORTANT!! - All flood and storm damage should be reported to Delaware County, regardless of how large or small. Reporting damage does not automatically trigger assistance, but documenting the full extent of damage throughout the county is important for potential FEMA response.

NEW: STATE DISASTER RELIEF FUND ASSISTANCE
Residents whose primary residence was impacted by the August 11 flooding may be eligible for financial assistance through Indiana’s State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF). Assistance is intended for eligible, uninsured losses and may include certain home repairs, essential furniture and household items, appliances, tools, debris removal, medical devices, and essential transportation.

YORKTOWN'S COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAY — SATURDAY, AUGUST 22
STORM-DAMAGED ITEM DISPOSAL
Dumpsters are available at 2400 S. Russ Street for storm-damaged items ONLY. Residents who can transport their own items should place them in the dumpsters if possible or neatly beside them if they are too large or heavy to place inside.
Residents unable to transport storm-damaged items can request assistance through the Needs Survey below. Volunteers will help collect curbside items and transport them to the disposal site. For liability reasons, volunteers will not enter homes.
YARD DEBRIS FOR URBAN YORKTOWN AREA HOMES
Storm-related sticks, limbs and larger yard debris should be cut into manageable sizes and placed at the curb. Town crews will collect and dispose of them. Small debris and leaves may be placed in your regular garbage container.

NEED LOCAL CLEANUP ASSISTANCE?
Complete the Yorktown Needs Survey if you need help with storm-damaged item removal or need cleaning supplies, food or hygiene products. This helps us coordinate volunteers and connect residents with Reach Yorktown.

BUILDING REPAIRS
If your home or business is going to need repairs, building permits are still required for flood-damage repairs, but the Town is waiving permit fees associated with these repairs.
Please share these resources with neighbors who may not regularly use social media. The more accurately we can identify damage and needs, the better we can coordinate the people and resources available to help.
