Today, we honor June 19, 1865. The day freedom finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of resilience, justice, culture, and community. It calls us to celebrate the strength and contributions of Black Americans while remembering that freedom must be protected, honored, and advanced.

Today and every day, we celebrate how far we have come and recommit ourselves to the work that still remains.

We hope to see you tomorrow at the Juneteenth Celebration at the Triangle Cultural Center!

This week's focus is Freedom & Finance. In recognition of Juneteenth, let's intentionally support Black-owned financial and professional service providers and continue investing in the economic strength of our communities.

Our Youth Leadership Institute participants had a fun-filled day at 601 Escape Rooms in Jackson, Mississippi! 💗💚

This activity gave our youth the opportunity to work together, think critically, communicate, and build confidence while creating lasting memories. Through teamwork and leadership, they learned that every challenge can be solved when we collaborate and support one another.

A special thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible for our youth. We are proud to continue investing in the next generation of leaders!

Week 2 of Black Dollar Days was all about glowing different! 💗💚

Omega Beta Omega Chapter proudly supported Black-owned businesses focused on beauty, wellness, and self-care. From hair care and barber services to beauty products and wellness experiences, every dollar spent helps build economic wealth and strengthen our communities.

Let’s continue to be intentional with our spending and shine a light on the businesses that help us look good, feel good, and grow together.

Through the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP™) initiative, we continue to support children and families in our local communities by helping provide weekend and holiday meals for students in need.

🧘🏾‍♀️ Move & Unwind: A Mental Health Awareness Experience 💚

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Empower Our Families Committee hosted an intimate stretch and dance experience designed to promote emotional well-being, self-connection, and inner peace.

Through gentle movement, participants were encouraged to release stress and tension, reduce anxiety, practice self-compassion, build confidence, and reconnect with themselves in a calm and supportive environment.

A special thank-you to Crystal, owner and choreographer of Taboo Aerial Dance and Fitness in Downtown Jackson, for guiding us through this meaningful and restorative experience.
Mental health matters, and taking time to care for ourselves allows us to continue caring for our families and communities.

Prom Prep 2026 was a success! 🎓✨

For three years in a row, the Omega Beta Omega Chapter has proudly supported deserving young men during prom season. This year, in collaboration with the Xi Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, we were honored to assist students from Yazoo and Humphreys Counties through Prom Prep: Suited and Booted.

It was truly a joy to see these young men attend prom looking sharp, feeling confident, and ready to celebrate this special milestone.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue uplifting our youth, strengthening our communities, and helping create memories they will cherish for years to come. Congratulations to these outstanding young men! Thank you the Committee as well as our sponsors who supported this program.
