PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE

Date: September 1, 2026

The Public Service Commission of Yazoo City has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice for customers in the following areas:
• Haley Barbour Parkway (Highway 3), south to Old Highway 3
• Highway 3, from West 2nd St east to Broadway St
• Jefferson Street area
• Ridge Road area
• Jonestown area
• Surrounding residences and businesses

Customers in these areas should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or preparing food. Bottled water may also be used.

This notice will remain in effect until water-quality testing confirms that the water is safe. PSCYC will notify customers when the boil water notice has been lifted.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Legal assistance for seniors (60+) will be available Thursday (9/3/2026) from 10:00 - 1:00. If you have questions about things like wills, benefits, expungements or just want some guidance please feel invited, they've been coming about monthly for a bit now and they've been very kind. Take advantage while it's available!

Busy day at the library! Dolly Partons' Imagination Library was here talking to our local YouthBuild team.

We (your library) are now signed up for the Imagination library program ourselves (sort of)! Now we'll be able to show you which books we get each month!

We also got to really start breaking in the button machine! 50+ buttons today! Plus tools flying off the shelves, folks must be expecting kinder weather (for some reason), 4 pressure washers today!

Couple exciting events maybe got scheduled but we shouldn't mention in case they fall through 🤐

PS: We're working on the whole not-allowed-to-say-which-movie-we're-showing... thing (maybe next week), but in the meantime we have a movie for adults each Saturday at 9:30 thanks to Chad Graeber. Please feel invited.

Our local MSU Extension office is going to be hosting ServSafe trainings on Saturdays in September to make things easier for those of us that are busy during the work week.
