May 10-16 is ! Most Americans are making the healthy choice to protect their brains, broader health, and well-being by not using drugs. According to the 2024 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 83.3% of Americans do not use drugs. Being drug-free is the social norm!

On behalf of Her Story, I want to thank everyone that attended the Recovery Safe Harbor Open House. We are truly grateful for your attendance and support. We are thrilled to open the doors, a space built on hope, healing, and new beginnings.

I want to honor the women and men who trust us with their care, our board, our dedicated staff, that work tirelessly to carry forward our mission. I want to thank our families for their love and support and community partners.

A special thank you to Christian Life Center and a very special donor of Her Story for believing in us and awarding us the grant/donation to acquire this home and all of you that donated and worked alongside Her Story to make this possible.

This is a celebration of what is possible when a community comes together. Her Story exists to walk alongside women as they rebuild, restore, and rediscover their strength. This house represents more than a building—it represents safety, dignity, and transformation.

Her Story served over 500 women in 2025, a milestone that reflects both the need across the Region and the impact of this work. We are truly grateful for the trust placed in us.

We are especially thrilled to continue expanding our continuum of care. Our programming continues to grow as we collaborate with new partners across the region, expanding outreach, Recovery housing, Intensive Outpatient, SUD counseling, Recovery wellness services, Behavioral health support, and Peer Support Services. This expansion allows us to meet individuals where they are and support them more fully on their journey.

Thank you for believing in this work, and for standing with us as we continue building something that changes lives.

This year, Mental Health America is on a mission to help people have more good days by meeting them where they are, supporting them as whole people, and understanding that “good” is subjective.
