Through HONORING LEGACY AND LEADERSHIP United Way of Central Massachusetts' Annual Community Celebration brought together leaders, partners, and community members to recognize those who are making a lasting difference across Central Massachusetts.

"They presented William Wallace, who recently retired after 50 years of service at the Worcester Museum, formerly the Worcester Historical Museum. In his remarks, Bill reflected on a lifetime of philanthropy and civic engagement, reminding us that service is measured not just in contributions, but in consistency, compassion, and a willingness to show up for others."

We are so proud to hear you were recognized as one of this year’s award recipients — you truly deserve it. 🎉 Congratulations Bill!

You recall 2025 as a big year of change for Museum of Worcester.
We changed our name.
We changed our branding.
We changed our galleries and even our gift shop, too.
We created a new accessible back entrance for visitors.
There is only one thing to do:

Change the name of the street.

Join us on January 23 at 3pm as Elm Street between Chestnut and Linden becomes William Wallace Way in honor of Executive Director Emeritus Bill Wallace and his 49.5 years of work at Museum of Worcester.
