Worcester World Affairs Council

Worcester World Affairs Council Non-Profit Corporation fostering community dialogue between citizens and professionals to educate and engage members in international affairs and politics.

The Worcester World Affairs Council is a Massachusetts chartered non-profit corporation formed in 1958 under the auspices of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. It is currently affiliated with the World Affairs Councils of America. Its purpose is to educate, inspire, and engage its members in international affairs and to foster dialogue between local civic leaders and invited experts in

the field. The Worcester Council is one of more than 95 councils which are spread across the United States. Neither the WWAC nor the WACA have any political affinity. They are not PAC-groups, and members have widely varying points of view in the political spectrum. Members include academics, professionals and business people, all of whom share a desire to gain a greater understanding of global issues, and to discuss international relations with well informed individuals. The Worcester Council meets monthly (September thru June) at the Worcester Club, which provides a convivial setting to discuss current issues with our speakers. Speakers include US or foreign government officials, academics, policy makers, authors, journalists, and other professionals. Meetings start with a social period and featurer a speaker presentation and a lively question and answer period. Dinner follows, providing ample opportunity for further discussion of the evening's topic among those present.
