🎬 Join us on Monday, May 4th for a free virtual screening of A Reckoning in Boston, a powerful documentary that follows Clemente students in Boston as they claim their voices and reshape the stories told about them.

After the screening, filmmaker James Rutenbeck and Clemente alumni and producers Kafi Dixon and Carl Chandler will join us for a live discussion and Q&A.

The event is free, but you must reserve a “ticket.” Link to register: https://kinema.com/events/A-Reckoning-in-Boston-xi9kkk

Fear shouldn’t be a barrier to education. Right now, many of our students are navigating real uncertainty — anxious about their safety, their families, and whether they can keep showing up.

But they keep showing up. And we’re determined to make sure they can.

Every gift keeps Clemente’s doors open for students who have always had to work harder just to walk through them.

Link in bio to donate.

Fear shouldn’t be a barrier to education. Right now, many of our students are navigating real uncertainty — anxious about their safety, their families, and whether they can keep showing up.

But they keep showing up. And we’re determined to make sure they can.

We’re raising $50,000 to expand childcare, grow online learning options, and make sure no student has to choose between their safety and their education.

Clemente Alumni Spotlight on Amy Howard – from the classroom to city hall!

When Amy Howard first heard about the Clemente Course in Port Townsend, WA, she said no. Twice.

But when she finally said yes, that decision changed everything. Twenty years later, Amy recalls how her Clemente experience helped her learn how to think critically, build authentic community, and recognize that she deserved a seat at the table.

Now, Amy is the first Clemente alumna to serve as mayor—leading her community in Port Townsend.

In her feature interview, Amy explains the impact of her Clemente experience: ”I would not be where I am today, quite literally, without the Clemente course.”

📢 Help us build a library of open access humanities resources!

The Clemente Course in the Humanities is always looking for ways to expand free, high-quality materials for our students and alumni, and we’d love your recommendations.

We’re specifically looking for open access materials. Think texts & readings related to literature, history, philosophy, art — like Project Gutenberg or the The Library of Congress Digital Collections.

What other open resources do you recommend? Drop them in the comments or send us a note.
